The celebration of Christmas and New Year with marginalized people.

During Christmas season, Malteser volunteers and staff developed various festive-activities with marginalized people as Roma and Gypsy children, orphans and disabled people.

On 21-12-2011, the MNSH volunteers have celebrated Christmas and New Year 2011 with girls and children that live at House of “Missionaries of Charity”. There they have celebrated with the children and girls, have distribute them presents and have tried to enjoy the musical-party with them, for these children and girls could feel somehow the atmosphere of the Christmas feast.

This event was followed also by other entertained activities with Roma children with whom MNSH has developed various socio-medical activities.

The volunteers’ fest this year was different, because among our volunteers were present 40 young girls and boys that live in Shkodra Orphanages.

The celebration started with grateful speech, of our spiritual leader Fra. Gazmend Tinaj, for all the collaborators, leaders, volunteers of Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri.

Than all participants enjoyed the delicious food and music select for them.

The fest was organized in the settings of “Kolping” centre. In this fest were present 100 persons, the activity was financed by MNSH.

Festa e Krishtlindjeve dhe e Vitit te Ri me njerëzit në nevojë

Gjatë stinës së Krishtlindjes, vullnetarët dhe stafi Malteser kanë organizuar aktivitete të ndryshme festive me njerëz në nevojë si fëmijët Rome dhe Egjiptian, jetimët dhe njerëzit me aftësi të kufizuara.
Me dt 23-12-2008, vullnetarët e MNSH kanë festuar Krishtlindjen dhe Vitin e Ri 2011 me vajzat dhe fëmijët që jetojnë në qendren e Missionareve të Nënë Terezës.

Aty kanë festuar me fëmijët dhe vajzat, u kanë shpërndarë dhuratat dhe janë munduar që të argëtohen në një pasdite muzikore me ta, në mënyrë që këta fëmijë dhe vajza ta ndiejnë sadopak atmosferën e festës së Krishtlindjeve dhe Vitit të Ri.

Ky aktivitet u pasua me aktivitete të tjera argëtuese me fëmijët Rom dhe Egjiptian, me të cilët MNSH ka projekte të ndryshme socialo-mjeksore.

Festa e vullnetarëve këtë vit ishte ndryshe, sepse përveç vullnetarëve të MNSh-së ishin të pranishëm edhe 40 të rinj dhe të reja të jetimores së qytetit të Shkodrës.

Festa filloi me fjalimin falenderues, të drejtuesit shpirtëror të Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri Fra.Gazmend Tinaj, për të gjithë bashkëpuntorët, drejtuesit, vullnetarët e Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri.

Pastaj të gjithë pjesmarrësit shijuan ushqimin e mrekullueshem dhe muzikën e përzgjedhur për ato.

Festa u organizua në ambientet e qendrës “Kolping”. Në këtë festë ishin të pranishëm 100 persona, aktiviteti u financua nga MNSH.

The celebration of Christmas and New Year 2012 with the kids of the “Malteser kindergarten"

On December 20th, the MNSH volunteers have celebrated Christmas and New Year 2011 with the kids of “Malteser Kindergarten”. The project began 2010 continues until 2013, is financed by Malteser Hospitaldienst, former ambassador of Malteser Helps in Albania Dr. Gunther A. Ganser, actually Head of the Permanent Observer Mission of the Sovereign Order of Malta to the UN, and
realized by MNSH and the Municipality of Shkodra. The Christmas celebration was organized in the settings of the "Kolping” center.

Children presented a festive-program with poems and songs. At the end of the fest Malteser volunteers distributes various Christmas-presents for all children of “Malteserkindergarten”.

This fest was attended by 70 children, parents and teachers.

The event was financed by MNSH, the activity was showed and commented by local media.

Awareness activities on International Day of voluntarism

On the occasion of international volunteer day (IVD), first days of the December Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri volunteers have organized various sensitive activities.

These activities aimed to raise awareness of our society in the correct enforcement of traffic rules.
In our country, recent years non implementation of traffic rules have caused numerous death people.
Prompted from this situation, our volunteers have thought to create a new sensitize billboard of speed reduction. They have worked to fix it between Shkoder-Lezha road.

During these days, volunteers have been engaged also to repair the other Malteser awareness billboards that are located in the streets of Shkodra region.

In these activities were present volunteers and staff members.

Aktivitete sensibilizuese në ditën ndërkombëtare të vullnetarizmit

dhjetor, 2011

Në kuadrin e ditës ndërkombëtare të vullnetarizmit, ditët e para të Dhjetorit, vullnetarët e organizatës Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri organizuan disa aktivitete sensibilizuese.

Këto aktivitete kishin si qëllim sensibilizimin e shoqërisë sonë në zbatimin me korrektësi të rregullave të qarkullimit rrugor. Në vendin tonë, vitet e fundit moszbatimi i rregullave të qarkullimit rrugor ka shkaktuar një numër të madh vdekjesh.

Të nxitur nga kjo situatë, vullnetarët tanë menduan të ideonin një tabelë të re sensibilizuese për uljen e shpejtësisë.

Ato e kanë vendosur atë në rrugën ndërmjet Shkodër-Lezhë

Gjatë këtyre ditëve, vullnetarët janë impenjuar në riparimin e tabelave sensibilizuese të tjera, të Malteserit që janë të vendosura në rrugët e rajonit të Shkodrës.

Në këto aktivitete ishin të pranishëm vullnetarë dhe anëtarë të stafit.

Medical assistance to the FC Vllaznia

This football season (September - January), Vllaznia will be guided by the Municipality of Shkodra.

As every year even this year MNSH will assist the FC Vllaznia during the matches held in Shkodra, since it was once more participating with its medical assistance.

The collaboration between MNSH and FC Vllaznia, which started 4 years ago, is being seen as very fruitful from both parts.

This year, representatives of Municipality requested to continue collaboration, in the assistance in medical services during football matches that will be held the stadium "Loro Boriçi" in Shkodër.

The football season started on Sunday, 25.09.2011, four from our volunteers has assisted the first football match of this Championship, Vllaznia-Teuta.

Asistencë mjekësore klubit futbollit Vllaznia

Këtë sezon futbollistik (shtator - janar) Vllaznia do të drejtohet nga Bashkia e Shkodrës.

Si çdo vit, edhe sivjet MNSH do të asistojë klubin e futbollit Vllaznia gjatë ndeshjeve që do të zhvillohen në Shkodër, duke qenë edhe një herë pjesëmarrëse me asistencën në shërbimin mjekësor. Bashkëpunimi mes MNSH dhe Sport Klub Vllaznia që ka filluar 4 vjet më parë, është parë si shumë i frytshëm nga të dyja palët.

Këtë vit, përfaqësues të Bashkisë kërkuan vazhdimsinë e bashkëpunimit në asistencën e ofruar nga vullnetarët e MNSH gjatë ndeshjeve të futbollit që do të zhvillohen në stadiumin "Loro Boriçi" në Shkodër.

Sezoni i ri futbollistik ka filluar ditën e diele, 25.09.2011, katër nga vullnetarët tanë asistuan në ndeshjen e parë për këtë vit, Vllaznia-Teuta.

World Day of Peace

On, 21.09.2011 was celebrated the International Day of Peace. The International Day of Peace has come this year with various activities organized by non-governmental organizations such as: Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri, World Vision, Albanian Red Cross, SOS village, Diocesan Justice and Peace Commission, Youth center “Trokitje”, The Door in cooperation with the Municipality of Shkodra.

During this day was organized a march against the phenomenon of blood feud and pro peace in our country. The message of peace was followed through leaflets and balloons.

In the afternoon the activities were followed by a show in “Migjeni” theater, in the form of a literary-artistic program with the participation of young people from schools and youth centers of the city.

This activity, aimed to forward to the people the massage of Holy Pope Benedict XVI, on the occasion the "World Day of Peace."

Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri volunteers, were co-organizers of these activities.

Dita Botërore e Paqes

Me datën 21.09.2011 është kremtuar “Dita Botërore e Paqes”. Dita ndërkombetare e paqes ka ardhur këtë vit me disa aktivitete të organizuara nga disa organizata joqeveritare si: Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri, World Vision, Kryqi i Kuq Shqiptar, Fshati SOS, Komisioni për Drejtësi dhe Paqe, qendra rinore “Trokitje”, The Door në bashkëpunim me Bashkinë Shkodër.

Gjatë kësaj dite u organizua një marshim kundër fenomenit të gjakmarrjes dhe pro paqes në vendin tonë, mesazhi i paqes u përcoll edhe nëpërmjet fletushkave dhe tullumbaceve.

Pasdite, aktivitetet u pasuan me një shfaqje në teatrin “Migjeni”, konceptuar në formën e një spektakli letraro-artistik me pjesëmarrjen e të rinjëve nga shkollat dhe qendrat rinore të qytetit.

Ky aktivitet kishte qëllim përcjelljen e mesazhit të Shenjëtërisë së tij, Papa Benedikti i XVI, në "Ditën Botërore të Paqes”. Vullnetarët e Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri, ishin bashkëorganizatorët e këtyre aktiviteteve.

New scholastic – year for “Malteser kindergarten”

After the summer holidays, lasted from 23 July - 23 August, started the new scholastic year also “Malteser kindergarten”

Eleven children left “Malteser kindergarten” because they went to the first class, ten other children who are in need, whose families have socio-economic difficulties have been registered. The teachers started this new scholastic year with enthusiasm and commitment.

This year our kindergarten, welcomes 64 children. These children are divided in two groups according to the age, first group with 36 kids and second group with 28 kids.

The program will be conducted by two teachers, one for the fist group and another one for the second group, one assistant teacher and one part time coordinator. The services will last from 7.30-14.00h.

This scholastic year is the second one financed by Malteser Hospitaldienst Austria (MHDA) with the support of former Ambassador of the Order of Malta in Albania , Prof.Granser.

Viti i ri shkollor për “Kopshtin Malteser”

Me mbarimin e pushimeve verore, të cilët zgjatën nga 23 korriku-23gusht, filloi viti i ri shkollor edhe për “Kopshtin Malteser”.

Njëmbëdhjetë fëmijë janë larguar, sepse shkojnë në klasen e parë, dhjetë fëmijë të tjerë në nevojë, familjet e të cilëve kanë vështirsi sociale dhe ekonomike janë regjistruar. Mësueset, kanë filluar këtë vit të ri shkollorë me entusiazëm dhe përkushtim.

Këtë vit kopshti ynë mirëpret 64 fëmijë. Fëmijët janë të ndarë në dy grupe sipas moshës, grupi i pare me 36 fëmijë dhe grupi i dytë me 28 fëmijë.

Programi do të drejtohet nga dy edukatore, njëra për grupin e parë dhe tjetra për grupin e dytë, nje asistente dhe nje koordinatore teknike part time.

Kopshti do te ofroje sherbimet e tij nga ora 7.30 deri ne oren 14.00.

Ku eshte viti i dyte qe kopshti financohet nga Malteser Austriak me mbeshtetjen e ish ambasadorit te urdherit te Maltes ne Shqiperi , Prof. Granser.

Social services at the House Missionaries of Charity

As every year, after the closure of summer-school camp in August, MNSH volunteers have continued their activities at weekends to assist handicap children and youth who live at the Missionary House of Mother Teresa in Shkodër.

Even this year, in August the MNSH volunteers have started their activities, going one day per week to offer their assistance at the Sisters in preparing meals, feeding the children, accompanying children during free-time and organizing walks and excursions with the young girls who live at the Sisters.

The MNSH volunteers have designed a plan to organize some excursions and activities with the young disabled girls, during October.

Every weekend, around 20 volunteers are taking part and they offered their contribution by Missionary House of Mother Teresa, in different activities.

Shërbime sociale në Shtëpinë e Misionareve të Bamirësisë

Si çdo vit pas mbarimit të Kamp-shkollë verore, në gusht vullnetarët e MNSH rifilluan aktivitetin e tyre gjatë fundjavave për të ndihmuar fëmijët me aftësi të kufizuara mendore dhe fizike dhe vajzat që jetojnë në Shtëpinë e Misionareve të Nënë Terezës në Shkodër.

Edhe gjatë këtij viti vullnetarët e MNSH në gusht kanë rifillluar aktivitetin e tyre, duke shkuar një herë në javë për të ofruar ndihmën e tyre tek Motrat për të përgatitur ushqimet, për të ushqyer fëmijët, për t’i shoqëruar ato në kohën e lirë e për të organizuar shëtitje dhe ekskursione me vajzat.

Vullnetarët e MNSH kanë planifikuar disa aktivitete dhe ekskursione me vajzat me aftësi të kufizuara, gjatë muajit tetor. Çdo fundjavë, rreth 20 vullnetarë marrin pjesë dhe ofrojnë kontributin e tyre pranë Shtëpisë së Misionareve të Nënë Terezës, në aktivitete të ndryshme.

SUMMER CAMP - VELIPOJA, 2011

The summer school - camp took place between 25 June – 29 July 2011 in Velipoja beach, where 135 Roma & Gypsie children and children from remote areas such as Shkrel, Dedaj and Fierze (Tropoja area) participated. The children were from families with social and economical problems. The children who participated were divided in three shifts, 45 children/shift, ten days each and 12 Albanian MNSH volunteers per shift conducted activities there.

Every day the children followed actively the education-entertainment program. Also this year our project aimed to integrate the Roma & Gypsies children and those coming from remote areas to our social life and to give them the possibility of active holidays since they miss them because of economic and social reasons. As every year, the camp was build up with tends by MNSH volunteers.

Malteser volunteers together with Belgian Scouts for 10 days, Sr. Mary Madappallil from Fierzë parish and four German Malteser volunteers for 2 weeks, assisted to meet the program according to schedule of activities, a volunteer from Germany has cooked for the participants for two weeks, other volunteers facilitated Camp activity by giving a hand in helping in kitchen, cleaning, systemizing and maintaining the logistics, in providing different services and taking care of security of the children.

During the second shift Camp was visit by the Order of Malta's ambassador in Albania, by the president of Malteser Helps in Albania H.E Monsignor Luciano Avgustini, by a delegation of Malteser Hilfdienst. On this day, was organized a feast. Diocesan Head, Prince Albrecht von Croÿ during the speech offered his thanks, on behalf of Malteser Hilfdienst, to those who helped in organizing the Summer-School Camp and especially to those who were working with these children. Except of their visit, they awarded with decorates some of the volunteers and staff member of Malteser Ndihmon në Shqiperi.

MNSH is very grateful for their support: to Malteser Hilfdienst, to the parish community “Hilfe fur Albanien” St. Cyriakus-Neuss- Grimlinghausen, who have financially-supported us in building the camp-kitchen and construction of toilets, to Malteser Warendorf who financially supported different camp materials; to Belgian boy scouts who have funded two entertainment activities for children participants, and to all volunteers that helped in the realization of this Camp.

Recognition is a sign of thanksgiving, it may seem little, but expresses a lot.

SUMMER CAMP - VELIPOJA, 2011

Kampi-Shkolla Verore është organizuar më 25 Qershor - 29 Korrik 2011, në plazhin e Velipojës. Në këtë kamp morën pjesë 135 fëmijë Rom dhe Egjiptian, fëmijë të zonave rurale si Shkrel, Dedaj dhe Fierze(zona e Tropojës). Fëmijët pjesëmarrës ishin nga familje me probleme sociale dhe ekonomike. Në kamp fëmijët pjesëmarrës ishin të ndarë ne tre turne, (45 fëmije për turn), 10 ditë për secilin turn dhe 12 vullnetarë shqiptarë, të cilët realizuan aktivitetet atje. Edhe këtë vit qëllimi i projektit ishte integrimi i fëmijëve Rom, Egjiptian dhe atyre që vijnë nga zonat rurale në jetën sociale, dhe t'u japë atyre mundësinë për të bërë pushime verore, pasi ata nuk mund të bëjnë pushime me familjarët e tyre për shkak të arsyeve ekonomike dhe sociale. Si çdo vit tjetër, Kampi është instaluar me tenda nga vetë vullnetarët.

Vullnetarët e Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri së bashku Skautistat Belg të cilët qendruan 10 ditë, motër. Mary Madappallil nga famullia e Fierzës dhe kater vullnetarët Gjerman të cilët qendruan 2 javë, ndihmuan ne realizimin e aktiviteteve sipas planit, vullnetari nga Gjermania i cili ka gatuar për të gjithë pjesmarrësit për dy javë , vullnetarët e tjerë lehtësuan aktivitetet e kampit duke ndihmuar në kuzhinë, pastrim, sistemimin dhe mirëmbajtjen e logjistikës, në ofrimin e shërbimit dhe të kujdesit të fëmijëve.

Gjatë turnit të dytë Kampi u vizitua nga ambasadori i Urdhërit të Maltës në Shqipëri , Presidenti i Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri Imzot Luciano Avgustini, nga një delegacion i Malteser Hilfdienst. Në këtë ditë, u organizua një festë. Drejtuesi Dioqezan Princ Albrecht Croÿ gjatë fjalimit, në emër të Malteser Hilfdienst, ofroi falënderimet e tij për ata që ndihmuan në organizimin e Kamp Shkollë Verore dhe veçanërisht për ato që ishin duke punuar me fëmijët pjesmarrës. Përveç vizitës së tyre ato nderuan me dekorata disa nga vullnetarët dhe anëtarë të stafit Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri.

MNSH i është shumë mirënjohëse për mbështetjene tyre: Malteser Hilfdienst, grupit të famullisë së Neuss/Gjermani “Hilfe fur Albanien” St. Cyriakus-Neuss- Grimlinghausen, të cilët kanë mbështetur financiarisht për ndërtimin e kuzhinës dhe ndërtimin e tualeteve, , Malteser Warendorf te cilet mbeshteten financiarisht blerjen e disa materialeve per kampin, skautistat Belg për financimin e dy aktiviteteve argëtuese për fëmijët pjesmarrës dhe gjithë vullnetarëve të cilët ndihmuan në realizimin e Kampit.

Mirënjohja është shenjë falënderimi, që edhe pse mund të duket e paktë flet shumë.

Malteser Diözese Köln Einsatz Juli 2011 in Albanien

Eine Delegation der Malteser aus der Diözese Köln reiste im Juli 2011 nach Albanien. Diözesanleiter Albrecht Prinz von Croÿ und Diözesangeschäftsführer Martin Rösler begleiteten den Botschafter des Malteserordens für Albanien, Herrn Richard Schottenhaml, und Enno Bernzen, Direktor des Malteser Verbindungsbüros in Berlin und Bereichsleiter im Generalsekretariat. Auch Pfarrer Stefan Schwarz, Bonner Stadtseelsorger der Malteser und Initiator sowie langjähriger Unterstützer der Albanienhilfe und Matthias Heiden, Auslandsreferent der Malteser in der Diözese Köln waren mit vor Ort. Parallel war eine Gruppe der Malteser Jugend aus der Diözese Köln zur Unterstützung des alljährlichen Feriencamps für bedürftige Kinder nach Shkodra, Nordalbanien, dem Hauptsitz der albanischen Malteser, gereist.

Der albanische Malteserverband MNSH, der seit 1995 eine intensive Unterstützung der Diözese Köln erfährt, hat sich zu einer anerkannten albanischen Hilfsorganisation mit Schwerpunkt in der Jugendarbeit und sozialen Projekten entwickelt. Insbesondere ist er aktiv in der Roma Hilfe, in der Ausbildung für Erste Hilfe, im Krankentransport und bei der medizinischen Hilfe der weiterhin nur ungenügend versorgten Bevölkerung des im Norden Albaniens gelegenen Gebiet Malesi e Madre. Auch im Bereich Katastrophenschutz wirken die albanischen Malteser intensiv an einer nachhaltigen Entwicklung in der Region Shkodra mit.

Seit Januar ist Richard Schottenhaml der neue Botschafter des Malteserordens für Albanien. Bei seinem ersten Besuch in Albanien sprach er dem Bürgermeister der Stadt Shkodra, Herrn Lorenc Luka und dem Direktor der Universität Shkodra, Herrn Professor Artan Haxhi, die beide maßgeblich am Erfolg und der Entwicklung des Malteser Verbandes mitgewirkt haben, seinen Dank aus und überreichte ihnen die Jubiläumsmedaille des Souveränen Malteser Ritterordens "15 Jahre MNSH Albanien". Auch besuchte die Delegation den Präsidenten des albanischen Malteser Verbandes, Bischof Lucjan Avgustini. Der engagierte Geistliche erhielt nun aus den Händen von Botschafter Schottenhaml ein wertvolles Bischofskreuz als Symbol der Verbundenheit des Ordens mit den albanischen Maltesern und als Ausdruck des besonderen Dankes.

Zukünftig soll die Kooperation im Bereich der Katastrophenhilfe aber auch bei der Anwendung des Know-hows in „Erster Hilfe“, wie zum Beispiel bei der Ausbildung kommunaler Kräfte und der Polizei, intensiviert werden. Nach der Veröffentlichung einer in Anlehnung an die deutschen Ausbildungsvorgaben entwickelten eigenen Erste Hilfe Broschüre hofft MNSH zukünftig bei der Kursvergabe für den Erwerb von Führerscheinlizenzen berücksichtigt zu werden.

Einen Höhepunkt der Begegnungsreise bildete der abschließende Besuch des Kindercamps in Veliopje. Hier konnten Bischof Avgustini und Prinz von Croÿ die Jubiläumsmedaille des Souveränen Malteser Ritterordens an weitere verdiente Helfer des albanischen Malteserverbandes überreichen und sich ein Bild von der Arbeit im Kindercamp machen.

Promotion of civil society activities of the Shkodra city

On the occasion of the European year dedicated voluntary work, Shkodra Municipality organized an activity to promote civil society activities of the Shkodra city.

In this public event, organized on 27 July 2011, from 18:00 to 21:00 a.m each of the participating organizations operating in Shkodra had the opportunity to introduce its activity.

Malteser Helps in Albania, as one of the most important organizations which operates through volunteer work in the city, made the presentation of its activities through pictures, First Aids boxes, ambulance cars, logistics in one of the tends located in the in pedestrian area of the city.

The introduction of our activity was made by MNSH volunteers Miledi Kukaj and Katjona Ndou in collaboration with Malteser Hilfdienst volunteers Katharina Jonas, Katharina Lang and Franz von Strachwitz.

Promovimi i aktiviteteve të shoqërisë civile të qytetit të Shkodrës

Me rastin e vitit Europian dedikuar vullnetarizmit, Bashkia e Shkodrës organizoi një aktivitet me qëllim promovimin e aktiviteteve të shoqërisë civile të qytetit të Shkodrës.

Në këtë event publik, organizuar me dt 27 korrik 2011, nga ora 18.00-21.00 secila prej organizatave pjesmarrëse që operon në Shkodër pati mundësinë të prezantojë aktivitin e saj.

Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri, si një ndër organizatat më të rëndësishme e cila operon në fushën e vullnetarizmit në qytetin tonë, bëri prezantimin e aktiviteteve te saja nepermjet fotove, çantës së ndihmës së pare, ambulancat, logjistikës në një nga tendat e vendosura në qendër të zonës pedonale të qytetit.

Në prezantimin e aktivitetit u angazhuan vullnetaret e MNSH-se Miledi Kukaj, Katjona Ndou në bashkëpunim me vullnetaret e Malteser Hilfdienst Katharina Jonas, Katharina Lang dhe Franz von Strachwitz.

University of Shkodra, "Luigj Gurakuqi" awards the title "Honorary Professor" to Prof. Gunther A. Granser, Ambassador of the Order of Malta to the UN.

Title was awarded by the Senate of the University "Luigj Gurakuqi" and communicated by the Rector, Prof. dr. Artan Haxhi, who during his speech, thanked the well known professor Granser for his continues extensive help and cooperation in different areas.

Of the more than 16 years in the role of Ambassador of the Sovereign Order of Malta in the Republic of Albania, Prof. Gunther A. Granser, has shown by his contributions to our country, altruistic and humane values of him and of the Order that he represents.

"On June 16, 2011, at 11:00, was held at the Senate Hall of the University of Shkodra, the ceremony of awarding the title "Honorary Professor”, to prof. Gunther A. Granser. In the ceremony participated the highest regional authorities: Mayor of Shkodra, Mr. Lorenc Luka, Chairman of Shkodra District Council, Mr. Gjovalin Kolombi.

There were participating in this ceremony along with members of the Senate and the deans of faculties many university students, expressing with their participation another appreciation for the contribution of Prof..Granser ".

During his short stay in Shkoder, Prof. Granser together with representatives of the Albanian organization of the Order of Malta, "Malteser Ndihmon ne Shqiperi" (MNSH) was received in an official visit by the Mayor of Shkodra, Mr. Lorenc Luka.

After congratulations to the new position as Ambassador of the Order of Malta in the UN and the praise from Mr. Luka for his long commitment to Albania, for the continued support of MNSH projects in Shkodra and in particular for the support offered by MNSH during recent emergencies and for the financing of kindergarten for children in need, Prof. Granser promised that even if from another position, together with Ambassador of the Order of Malta to Albania, Mr. Schottenhaml will intensify the efforts to support the Albanian Malteser work.

During the last day of stay in Shkodra, as well as other previously times , Ambassador Granser visited the center and some of the projects of MNSH.

Integrating activities

In continuity of integration activities with the vulnerable level, the Organization “Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri” organized two entertaining excursions with the girls who live at the House “Missionaries of Charity” Mother Teresa in Shkodra.

The activities were held at the lake of Shkodra, in Shirokë and a considerable number of girls took part. They passed lovely hours in the company of the MNSH volunteers.

Another integrating activity held this month, was the participation of the Roma and Egyptian community children in the football matches at the sportive center “Don Bosko”. The children were accompanied by the MNSH volunteers.

Aktivitete integruese

Në vazhdën e aktiviteteve integruese që zhvillon me shtresat vulnerabël, organizata “Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri” organizoi dy ekskursione argëtuese me vajzat që jetojnë në shtëpinë e “Misionareve të Bamirësisë” Nënë Tereza në Shkodër.

Aktivitetet u zhvilluan pranë liqenit të Shkodrës, në Shirokë dhe morën pjesë një numër i konsiderueshëm i vajzave, të cilat kaluan disa orë të këndshme nën shoqërinë e vullnetarëve të MNSH.

Një tjetër aktivitet integrues që u zhvillua gjatë këtij muaji ishte ai i pjesëmarrjes së fëmijëve të komunitetit Rom dhe Egjiptian në ndeshjet e futbollit të zhvilluara në qendrën sportive “Don Bosko”. Fëmijët ishin të shoqëruar nga vullnetarët e MNSH-së.

Easter celebration with the girls of “Missionaries of Charity” House and Roma and Egyptian children

On the occasion of the Easter celebration, the Malteser volunteers have organized entertainment activities with the girls who live at the house “Missionaries of Charity” Mother Teresa and the children of Roma and Egyptian communities.

In the first activity, the volunteers, together with the girls, have organized different entertaining games in their house and then they offered the Easter eggs and candies for all the girls and children. There were 35 girls and 4 volunteers present in this activity.

The second activity was organized with the children of Roma and Egyptian communities. The children, helped by the MNSH volunteers, have painted the Easter eggs by themselves and than an entertaining atmosphere was created with different games. The feast ended with a cocktail and ice creams.

There were 40 children participating in this activity accompanied by 3 MNSH volunteers.

Kremtimi i Pashkëve me vajzat e shtëpisë “Misionaret e Bamirësisë” dhe fëmijët e komunitetit Rom dhe Egjiptian

Me rastin e kremtimit të festës së Pashkëve vullnetarët e MNSH-së kanë organizuar aktivitete argëtuese me vajzat që jetojnë në shtëpinë “Misionaret e Bamirësisë” Nënë Tereza dhe fëmijët e komunitetit Rom dhe Egjiptian.

Në aktivitetin e parë vullnetarët bashkë me vajzat organizuan disa lojëra zbavitëse në ambientin e shtëpisë së tyre pastaj u ofruan vezët e Pashkëve dhe disa ëmbëlsira për të gjitha vajzat dhe fëmijët. Ishin të pranishme 35 vajza dhe 4 vullnetarë.

Aktiviteti i dytë u realizua me fëmijët e komunitetit Rom dhe Egjiptian. Fëmijët të ndihmuar nga vullnetarët i kanë lyer vetë vezët e Pashkëve e më pas u kalua në një atmosferë argëtimi dhe lojërash të ndryshme. Në fund festa u mbyll me një koktej dhe akullore.

Fëmijët që morën pjesë në aktivitet ishin 40 të shoqëruar nga 3 vullnetarë.

The Station of the Cross in the Mount Tarabosh

Lenten season has come and the Church, as each year, is organizing many activities to be prepared for the great feast of Easter.

One of the greatest activities, the Station of the Cross in the Mountain Tarabosh in Shkodra, this time was celebrated on March 26, where uncountable faithful, young and old, and members of the catholic youth groups from Shkodra and other parishes climbed the mountain of Tarabosh to recall the Passion of Jesus and pray the 14 stops of the Station of the Cross.

The celebration began at 9. 00 a.m. from St Magdalene Church, with the greeting of the Archbishop of Shkodra, H.E. Angelo Massafra and it lasted for about four hours. Three MNSH volunteers prayed the 9th Stop “Jesus Falls the Third Time”.

Udha e Kryqit në Malin Tarabosh

Koha e Kreshmëve ka ardhur dhe Kisha, si çdo vit, po organizon shumë aktivitete për t’u përgatitur sa më mirë për festën e madhe të Pashkëve.

Një nga aktivitetet më të mëdha, Udha e Kryqit në Malin Tarabosh në Shkodër, këtë herë u kremtua më 26 mars, ku besimtarë të panumërt, të rinj e të moshuar, anëtarë të grupeve rinore nga Shkodra dhe dioqeza të tjera, iu ngjitën malit të Taraboshit për të përkujtuar mundimet e Jezusit dhe për të lutur 14 ndalesat e Udhës së Kryqit.

Kremtimi filloi në orën 9.00 nga Kisha e Zojës Magdalenë me përshëndetjen e Arqipeshkvit të Shkodrës, Imzot Angelo Massafra dhe zgjati për rreth katër orë. Vullnetarët e MNSH lutën ndalesën e 9të, “Jezusi rrëzohet të tretën herë nën kryq”.

Folk Games Fest 2011

“Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri” assists with the First Aid Service

On March 26, in the city of Shkodra, there was organized the fourth edition of the event “Folk Games Fest 2011”.

This activity was intended to enrich the lives of young people and to introduce them with the national traditions by dances, songs and folk games. A novelty of this activity was the running race “Run to the castle of Rozafa 3km”. The activity started at 10.00 with the opening ceremony on the main square and the running race and went on to the Castle Rozafa. Among other activities, there was the photographic exhibition from previous editions of the folk games, traditional food, traditional handmade etc.

The event was organized by "The Door" with the support of Council of Shkodra District, Shkodra Municipality, The Commune Qerret, etc, and among others, participated groups from the Commune of Shkodra District, Municipality of Rubik and a special group of Albanian and Norwegian volunteers who came from Norway.

With the request of "The Door", “Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri” assisted with the First Aid Service during the whole activity. There were present 3 volunteers and an auto ambulance.

Lojëra Popullore Fest 2011

“Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri” asiston me Shërbimin e Ndihmës së Parë

Më 26 mars, në qytetin e Shkodrës, u organizua, edicioni i katërt i aktivitetit “Lojëra Popullore Fest 2011”.

Ky aktivitet, kishte si qëllim që të pasuronte jetën e të rinjve dhe t’i njihte ata me traditat kombëtare me anë të performimit të valleve, këngëve dhe lojërave popullore. Një risi e këtij aktiviteti ishte edhe gara e vrapimit “Vrapo për në kala Rozafa 3km”. Aktiviteti filloi në ora 10.00 me ceremoninë e hapjes në sheshin e pjacës dhe garën e vrapimit dhe vazhdoi në Kalanë Rozafa. Ndër të tjera ishte edhe ekspozita fotografike nga edicionet e mëparshme të lojërave popullore, këndi i ushqimit tradicional, punëdore tradicionale etj.

Aktiviteti u organizua nga “The Door” me mbështetjen e Këshillit të Qarkut Shkodër, Bashkisë Shkodër, Komuna Qerret etj dhe ndër të tjerë, pati si pjesëmarrës trupa nga Komuna të Qarkut Shkodër, Bashkia Rubik dhe një trupë e veçantë vullnetarësh shqiptarë e norvegjezë që vinin nga Norvegjia.

“Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri”, me kërkesën e “The Door”, asistoi me Shërbimin e Ndihmës së Parë gjatë gjithë aktivitetit. Ishin të pranishëm 3 vullnetarë dhe një autoambulancë.

A collaboration for the flooded families in need

MNSH distribute 1800 blankets

Thanks to the good will of an Albanian man, Mr. Indrit Mema, who leads a manufacture in Italy which produces blankets, and the collaboration of the Italian Trade Chamber in Albania, represented by Mr. Luigi Nidito, it was made possible to bring to Shkodra a considered number of blankets to be delivered for families in some communes and villages around Shkodra flooded at the end year 2010.
With the collaboration of “Lions Club Albania” represented by Mr. Gjergj Leqejza, “Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri”, made possible the distribution of these blankets:
On January 27, 2011, 1000 blankets were distributed for the flooded families in the Commune of Dajç selected by the Commune and the Church representatives and on February 17, 2011, 800 blankets were distributed for the flooded families in Kryebushat, Barbullush and Mali i Jushit selected by the Commune representatives in Bushat.
“Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri” offers its special thanks to Mr. Indrit Mema, the Italian Trade Chamber in Albania, represented by Mr. Luigi Nidito, “Lions Club Albania” represented by Mr. Gjergj Leqejza, for their offer and collaboration for the flooded families in need. Thanks go even for the representatives of the Communes and the Church, who carefully chose the families most in need. A small gesture with love is a great moral and spiritual help for the people who suffer.

Luigi Nidito, u bë i mundur dërgimi në Shkodër, i një numri të konsiderueshëm batanijesh për t’iu shpërndarë familjeve në disa komuna dhe fshatra të Shkodrës të përmbytura në fundvitin 2010.

Our Lady of Lourdes – The Day of the Sick

MNSH volunteers assist the Missionaries of Charity

February 11, is an important day for the Church, because it celebrates the day of Our Lady of Lourdes, differently called "The world day of the sick", dedicated to the sick people and to those who assist them. Everywhere Masses are celebrated during this day, where the greatest number of the faithful taking part is of those who suffer physical pain.
On this day, for the parish of Shkodra, the Mass was celebrated in its Cathedral, leaded by H.E Bishop Angelo Massafra with the presence of the parish priest and other priests as well.
At the end of the Mass the parish priest, offered his thanks to those who helped in organizing the Mass and especially to those who were assisting the sick people and have been transporting and taking care of the ones who were present in the Church.
Malteser volunteers assisted in helping the "Missionaries of Charity" Mother Teresa transport the sick children from their center to the Church and vice-versa. There were eight MNSH volunteers and two ambulance-cars.

11 shkurti është një ditë e rëndësishme për Kishën, sepse ajo kremton ditën e Zojës së Lurdit, e quajtur ndryshe "Dita botërore e të sëmurëve", kushtuar njerëzve të sëmurë dhe të atyre që u shërbejnë atyre. Kudo gjatë kësaj dite janë kremtuar Meshë, ku numri më i madh i besimtarëve pjesëmarrës është i atyre që vuajnë dhimbje fizike.
Në këtë ditë, për famullinë e Shkodrës, Mesha u kremtua në Katedralen e saj, të udhëhequr nga Imzot Angelo Massafra me praninë e famullitarit dhe meshtarëve të tjerë.
Në fund të Meshës, famullitari ofroi falënderimet e tij për ata që ndihmuan në organizimin e Meshës dhe veçanërisht për ata që ndihmojnë njerëzit e sëmurë, ata që kanë bërë të mundur transportin dhe që janë kujdesur për të sëmurët që ishin të pranishëm në Kishë.
Vullnetarët e Malteser ndihmuan “Misionaret e Bamirësisë” Nënë Tereza në transportin e fëmijëve të sëmurë nga qendra e tyre në Kishë dhe anasjelltas. Në këtë aktivitet ishin të pranishëm tetë vullnetarë dhe dy ambulanca.

A chronicle of the activities of “Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri” during the flooding of December

December 1: Even this year, flooding did not spare Shkodra and villages around it. The bad weather and heavy rain of these days, obliged thousands of people to abandon their houses half or completely covered by water. Along with the state structures and the police, “Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri”, part of the Emergency Committee Shkodra District, has been put on alert to assist the flooded inhabitants, particularly the Roma and Egyptian Communities affected by the disaster. All together we can do something, however small, to help the other in need.

December 5: During these difficult days for all flooded areas, thousands of families have remained isolated from the water, not having the opportunity to be supplied even with the basic foods. Among others, “Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri” supports families of Roma and Egyptian Community in the “Tejbunë”, offering bread and water to about 95 isolated families.

December 7: Every day, there are families being evacuated, leaving behind their houses now uninhabitable due to flooding. They are sheltered in dormitories, reception centers or even in hotels. The numerous families of the Roma Community were evacuated at the reception center in Rrenc. “Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri” has helped them with food packages.

December 9: Another flooded neighborhood, unprepared to be faced with the multiple consequences of the heavy rain and water which every day raises its level, entering inside the houses and impeding the movement of the people. At the request of the Municipality, "“Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri” is already fulfilling its duty in the neighborhood of "Livade" to support its people with food packages.

December 11: the Structures of Emergency stay on alert close to the Prefecture to assist people in need. Obviously with them is unified the CP structure of “Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri”

December 18: Anyone who knows the suffering and misfortune, having pain in his heart, has joined to help the people of Shkodra and the surrounding villages in this emergency situation in which they are found. Between them, German Nuns in Fushë-Arrëz, provide for MNSH food materials for people in need, in families or in evacuation centers. Many thanks from MNSH and beneficiaries

December 18: Malteser asked another collaboration, that of CISOM - Italian Rescue Corps (Corpo Italiano di Soccorso, Ordine di Malta CISOM). Their readiness makes them immediately respond to this request. Two CISOM volunteers with a van with food and hygiene aid traveled to Shkodra. MNSH is very grateful to CISOM, to its director Dr. Mauro Casinghini, for this willingness to assist families affected by floods. Recognition is a sign of thanksgiving; it may seem little, but expresses a lot.

December 19: In the environments of MNSH office, its staff and volunteers along with the two CISOM volunteers prepare food and hygiene packages for families in need. The prepared packages consist on materials brought by the Nuns of Fushë-Arrëz, CISOM and MNSH.

December 20: Another neighborhood affected by the floods is "Iliria." The two CISOM volunteers, together with MNSH volunteers are headed to this neighborhood to help the affected families distributing about 100 food and hygiene packages

Kronikë rreth aktiviteteve të “Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri” gjatë kohës së përmbytjes në muajin dhjetor

1 dhjetor: Përmbytjet edhe këtë fundviti nuk e kursyen Shkodrën dhe fshatrat rreth saj. Koha e keqe dhe reshjet e shumta që ranë e vazhdojnë të bien, bënë që mijëra njerëz të braktisin shtëpitë e tyre gjysmë apo krejtësisht të mbuluara nga uji. Bashkë me strukturat e shtetit dhe të policisë, edhe “Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri”, pjesë e Komisionit të Emergjencave të Qarkut Shkodër, është vënë në gjendje gatishmërie për t’u ardhur në ndihmë banorëve të përmbytur, veçanërisht Komunitetin Rom dhe Egjiptian të prekur nga kjo fatkeqësi. Të gjithë bashkë mund të bëjmë diçka, sado të vogël, për ta ndihmuar tjetrin në vështirësi.

5 dhjetor: Gjatë këtyre ditëve të vështira për mbarë zonat e përmbytura, mijëra familje kanë mbetur të izoluar nga uji, duke mos pasur mundësi as të furnizohet me ushqimet bazë. Mes të tjerash, “Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri” mbështet familjet e Komunitetit Rom dhe Egjiptian në lagjen “Tejbunë”, duke u ofruar rreth 95 familjeve të izoluara bukë dhe ujë.

7 dhjetor: Çdo ditë, ka familje që evakuohen, duke lënë pas shtëpitë e tyre tashmë të pabanueshme për shkak të përmbytjeve. Ata strehohen në konvikte, qendra pritjeje apo edhe në hotele. Familje të shumta të komunitetit Rom janë evakuuar në qendrën e pritjes në Rrenc. “Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri” u gjendet atyre pranë me paketa ushqimore.

9 dhjetor: Një tjetër lagje e përmbytur, e papërgatitur për t’u bërë ballë pasojave të reshjeve të shumta dhe ujit që çdo ditë e më shumë e ngre nivelin e vet, duke hyrë brenda shtëpive dhe duke penguar lëvizjet e banorëve. Sipas kërkesës së Bashkisë, “Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri” tashmë gjendet duke përmbushur detyrën e saj në lagjen “Livade”, për të mbështetur banorët e saj me paketa ushqimore.

11 dhjetor: Strukturat e Emergjencave qëndrojnë në gatishmëri pranë prefekturës për t’u ardhur në ndihmë njerëzve në nevojë. Padyshim me ta është bashkuar edhe struktura e “Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri”.

18 dhjetor: Çdokush që e njeh vuajtjen dhe fatkeqësinë, që ka dhimbje në zemër, është bashkuar për të ndihmuar popullin e Shkodrës dhe të fshatrave përreth në këtë situatë emergjente në të cilën ata gjenden. Mes tyre, Murgeshat gjermane në Fushë-Arrëz, i ofrojnë MNSH materiale ushqimore për personat në nevojë, në familje ose në qendrat e evakuimit.

18 dhjetor: MNSH kërkon një tjetër bashkëpunim, atë të CISOM – Trupave Italiane të Ndihmës së Shpejtë (Corpo Italiano di Soccorso, Ordine di Malta - CISOM). Gatishmëria e tyre bën që me të shpejtë t’iu përgjigjen kësaj kërkese dhe dy vullnetarë të CISOM me një fugon me ndihma ushqimore dhe higjienike udhëtojnë për në Shkodër. MNSH i është shumë mirënjohëse CISOM, drejtorit të saj Dr. Mauro Casinghini për gatishmërinë për t’u ardhur në ndihmë familjeve të prekura nga përmbytjet. Mirënjohja është shenjë falënderimi, që edhe pse mund të duket e paktë, flet shumë.

19 dhjetor: Në ambientet e zyrës së MNSH, stafi dhe vullnetarë të saj bashkë me 2 vullnetarët e CISOM, përgatisin paketa ushqimore dhe higjienike për familjet në nevojë. Pakot e përgatitura përbëhen nga materialet e sjella nga motrat e Fushë-Arrëz, CISOM dhe MNSH.

20 dhjetor: Një tjetër lagje e prekur nga përmbytjet është lagja “Iliria”. Dy vullnetarët e CISOM, bashkë me vullnetarë të MNSH janë drejtuar në këtë lagje për të ndihmuar familjet e prekura, duke shpërndarë rreth 100 pako ushqimore dhe higjienike.

Celebration of feasts at the Missionaries of Charity Mother Teresa

Christmas and New Year are so lovely feasts, especially for children. As a continuity of MNSH activities with handicap children and girls, was that of December 27, 2010. The volunteers have prepared presents and then at noon, they headed to the House of “Missionaries of Charity”.
There they have celebrated with the children and girls, have given them presents and have tried to enjoy with them dancing and talking.
The volunteers helped these children and girls to fell the atmosphere of the end year celebrations.

Krishtlindja dhe Viti i Ri janë festa shumë të dashura, veçanërisht për fëmijët. Vazhdimësi e aktiviteteve që vullnetarët e MNSH-së organizojnë me fëmijët dhe vajzat me aftësi të kufizuara, ishte edhe ai i datës 27 dhjetor 2010. Vullnetarët kanë përgatitur dhurata në ambientet e MNSH, pastaj gjatë drekës janë drejtuar për tek shtëpia e motrave të Nënë Terezës. Aty kanë festuar me fëmijët dhe vajzat, u kanë shpërndarë dhurata dhe janë munduar që të gëzojnë me ta duke vallëzuar dhe biseduar. Vullnetarët kanë ndihmuar që këta fëmijë dhe vajza ta ndiejnë sadopak atmosferën e festave të fundvitit.

The celebration of Christmas and New Year with kids of the
“Malteser kindergarten” and Roma children

On December 23, 2010, the kids of “Malteser Kindergarten” prepared a program for Christmas and New Year. The kindergarten is a project financed by Dr. Gunther A. Ganser, Ambassador of the Order of Malta in Albania and Malteser Hospitaldiens, Austria and realized by MNSH and the Municipality of Shkodra.
The kids prepared and showed this program with songs and poems for their parents and the Roma children, with whom MNSH develops various socio-medical projects for 10 years. The celebration was organized at the Kolping center. The five MNSH volunteers who helped, prepared presents and delivered them for 100 children who took part during this celebration. This event was financed by Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri. Activity was commented by the local media.

Më 23 dhjetor 2010, fëmijët e Kopshtit “Malteser” përgatitën një program për Krishtlindje dhe Vit të Ri. Kopshti është financuar nga Dr.Gunther A. Ganser, Ambasador i Urdhrit të Maltës në Shqipëri dhe Malteser Hospitaldiens, Austri dhe është realizuar nga Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri dhe Bashkia Shkodër.
Fëmijët përgatitën dhe e shfaqën këtë program me këngë dhe poezi për prindërit e tyre dhe fëmijët e Komunitetit Rom, me të cilët MNSH ka projekte të ndryshme social-mjekësore prej 10 vitesh. Festimi i organizua në ambientet e qendrës “Kolping”.
Pesë vullnetarët e MNSH që ndihmuan, përgatitën dhe shpërndanë dhurata për 100 fëmijët që morën pjesë gjatë këtij festimi.
Ky aktivitet u financua nga Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri dhe u komentua nga media lokale.

Farewell reception of the Ambassador of the Sovereign Order of Malta in Albania Prof. Dr. Gunther A. Granser.

On December 15, 2010, at 7.00 p.m, a farewell reception was organized at the hotel “Rogner” Tirana, on the occasion of the departure of the Ambassador of the Sovereign Order of Malta in Albania, Prof. Dr. Gunther A.Granser.
In this solemnity there were present H.E Rrok Mirdita, President of the Episcopal Conference of Albania, H. E Lucian Avgustini, Bishop of Sapa, and President of “Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri”, Father Gazmend Tinaj, Provincial of the Franciscans in Albania and the Spiritual Leader of MNSH.
Honored with their presence ministers, parliamentarians, diplomatic corps accredited in Albania, and representatives of local government.
In his farewell speech Prof. Dr. Gunther A. Granser emphasized that 16 years of work have been fruitful years of cooperation, since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1994. During his speech, he expressed his thanks to the President of MNSH, H. E Lucian Avgustini, the Executive Director Mr. Maranaj Marku, the staff and volunteers of the MNSH and to all his cooperators during these 16 years.
“Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri” participated in this very important event with 14 volunteers and its staff.

Pritja e lamtumirës së Ambasadorit të Urdhrit Sovran të Maltës në Shqipëri, Prof. Dr. Gunther A. Granser

Më 15 dhjetor 2010, ora 19:00, u organizua një pritje lamtumire në hotel Rogner Tiranë, me rastin e largimit të Ambasadorit të Urdhrit Sovran të Maltës në Shqipëri, Prof. Dr. Gunther A.Granser.
Në këtë solemnitet morën pjesë Imzot Rrok Mirdita, Kryetar i Konferencës Ipeshkvnore të Shqipërisë, Imzot Lucian Avgustini, Ipeshkëv i Dioqezës së Sapës dhe President i “Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri”, Atë Gazmend Tinaj Provincial i Françeskaneve të Shqipërisë dhe drejtues shpirtëror i MNSH.
Nderonin me pjesëmarrjen e tyre ministra, deputetë, trupa diplomatikë të akredituar në Shqipëri dhe përfaqësues të pushtetit vendor.
Në fjalën e tij të lamtumirës Prof. Dr. Gunther A. Granser theksoi se 16 vite punë kanë qenë vite të frytshme bashkëpunimi që nga vendosja e marrëdhënieve diplomatike në vitin 1994. Në fjalën e tij ai shprehu falënderimet për presidentin e MNSH, Shkëlqesinë e Tij, Imzot Lucian Avgustini, Drejtorin Ekzekutiv Z. Maranaj Marku, Stafin dhe Vullnetarët e organizatës MNSH, si dhe për gjithë bashkëpunëtorët e tij gjatë këtyre 16 viteve.

Big Flood in North Albania

More than 12,000 people were evacuated from their homes in Shkodër Region due to floods that have hit the country in the past week, a civil services official said here on Saturday:
"Some 14,000 hectares (34,595 acres) of farming land are under water that has blocked and completely isolated several villages in the region of Shkodër endangering people's lives." - Leonard Olli declared.
Some 1,500 police and soldiers have been deployed in the northern region to help with the evacuation of residents and to secure food for them.
At least 4,597 houses have been damaged and 2,561 were completely flooded, a police report said.
Despite repeated calls from the authorities, most villagers in the Shkodra region have refused to leave their homes and abandon their cattle.
Main entrances into Shkodra are blocked while several parts of the town where the water level is higher than two meters (3.2 feet) have no electricity. National road to Montenegro is blocked.
"The situation is very difficult," Albanian President Bamir Topi said in Shkodra.
Topi said he had called for help from NATO countries and talked by phone with his Turkish counterpart Abdullah Gül who promised logistic help for flooded areas.
The authorities fear that new heavy rains – according to weather forecast - could raise the water level and cause the breaking of water-gates at hydro-electric power plants, causing a disaster and endangering lives in the Shkodër region.
Heavy rains have also caused problems and major material damages in other parts of Albania.
Albanian Foreign Minister had yesterday a meeting with representatives of Diplomatic Corps in Albania and Foreign Governmental Development Agencies asking for support in medicaments, medical materials, boats, helicopters.
This evening will arrive in Shkoder the first 4 cars with clothes, food and hygienic materials as the beginning of the support from the Italian Red Cross for the Albanian Red Cross.
Support (drinking water, bread) to people still remaining in the houses is done using helicopters or boats. This is the situation in the effected communes, like Dajc, Velipoje, Rrethina, Berdice, Velipoje, Guri i Zi, etc. as well as in some surrounding quarters in the city of Shkodër.

Activity organized by the Commune of Berdicë and NGO "The Door"
Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri” assist the activity with the First Aid

"Play for peace in Berdicë”. This is the title of the cultural and sportive activity for children, which was organized on September 25, 2010, from 9:00 to 14:30 at the Commune of Berdicë, District of Shkodra.

The activity was realized in collaboration with the NGO “The Door” and aimed to join the football teams for boys and girls from the Communes of Shkodra District: Dajç, Berdicë, Guri i Zi, and the Municipality of Rubik and Shkodra.

The program provided songs and the greeting speech, the first football matches for boys and girls, visit in the painting exhibition, the second football matches for boys and girls and at the end the awards for the winners.

“Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri” was asked to assist in this activity with the First Aid team. There were three volunteers and the ambulance car of MNSH.

“Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri” asiston aktivitetin me Ndihmën e Parë

“Luaj për paqen në Berdicë”. Është ky titulli i aktivitetit kulturor dhe sportiv për fëmijë, i cili u organizua me datë 25 shtator 2010, nga ora 9.00 – 14.30 pranë Komunës Berdicë, Qarku i Shkodrës.

Aktiviteti u realizua në bashkëpunim me OJF “The Door” dhe kishte si qëllim që të bashkonte skuadrat e futbollit për djem dhe vajza nga Komunat e Qarkut të Shkodrës si: Dajç, Bërdicë, Guri i Zi, si dhe nga bashkia Rubik e Shkodër.

Programi parashikonte këngë e fjalën përshëndetëse, ndeshjet e para të futbollit meshkuj e femra, vizitë në ekspozitën e pikturës, ndeshjet e dyta të futbollit meshkuj e femra dhe ndarje çmimesh për fituesit.

“Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri” iu kërkua që të asistonte gjatë këtij aktiviteti me skuadrën e Ndihmës së Parë. Ishin të pranishëm tre vullnetarë dhe makina ambulancë e MNSH.

The priest from Dom-Erch receives the Federal Cross of Merit for his work for Albania

The priest from Dom-Erch receives the Federal Cross of Merit. The District Head appreciates the ability of Father Schwarz to inspire people to be persistent to one thing.

EUSKIRCHEN - "It's about the project," said Father Stefan Schwarz, as he addressed the word to the Guest House in the district. Although the District Head Rosenke Günter handed to him the Federal Cross of Merit on Thursday morning, the priest from Dom-Esch had been very humble.

After he had contacts with Kosovo refugees in his parish of St. Cyriac in Neuss-Grimlinghausen in 1992, with the support of Malteser, he initiated a project to help Albania. He contributed not only in collecting donations and with his own financial resources, but also set out to Albania himself. There he helped to bring four ambulance cars in the city of Shkodra. Under his direction, doctors were organized, who ensured the basic needs for inaccessible mountain regions, and furthermore the region received a discarded auxiliary hospital, devices which are still in service. Father Schwarz convinced Malteser-Hilfsdienst as well, to set up a branch in Shkodra. It exists since 1995 and since 2005 it operates as an independent branch of Malteser Relief, with 120 people who help.

The District Head commended for the presentation of the Federal Cross of Merit, the ability of Father Schwarz to inspire people to be persistent to one thing. "Without the support of Malteser my Mission would have had no sustainable results," Schwarz passed the honor to his supporters. With the help of the Malteser the donated ambulance and the hospital would wisely and sustainably be used, said the father.

He also thanked his family, who during his operations in Albania had always taken care of him. For the first trip he borrowed a camper from his mother. He also thanked his employers of JVA Rheinbach, where he worked since 1998 as a full-time priest and social contact for the employees. Without a commitment from the employer, it would have been not possible for him of course to support the project for several weeks in Albania.

Since 2009, Stefan Schwarz lives in the district of Euskirchen. He also holds exhibitions in Dom-Esch, to be familiar in the community. Even the district Head supported him for this project. He gave the priest the book "Guide to the Eifel" by Jacques Berndorf.

Dabei steuerte er nicht nur gesammelte Spenden und eigene finanzielle Mittel bei, sondern begab sich auch selbst nach Albanien. Dort half er mit, vier Krankenwagen in die Stadt Shkodra zu bringen. Unter seiner Regie wurden Ärzte organisiert, die die Grundversorgung für schwer zugängliche Bergregionen sicherten, zudem erhielt die Region ein vom Bund ausrangiertes Hilfskrankenhaus, dessen Geräte bis heute im Einsatz sind. Pfarrer Schwarz überzeugte den Malteser-Hilfsdienst auch davon, in Shkodra eine Niederlassung zu gründen. Sie existiert seit 1995, seit 2005 fungiert sie als selbständiges Malteser-Hilfswerk, welches von 120 Helfern vor Ort unterstützt wird.

Der Landrat lobte bei der Überreichung des Bundesverdienstkreuz die Fähigkeit von Pfarrer Schwarz, Menschen nachhaltig für eine Sache zu begeistern. „Ohne die Unterstützung der Malteser hätte mein Einsatz kein nachhaltiges Ergebnis gehabt“, gab Schwarz die Ehre an seine seine Mitstreiter weiter. Mit Hilfe der Malteser erst konnten die gespendeten Krankenwagen und das Krankenhaus sinnvoll und nachhaltig eingesetzt werden, so der Pfarrer.

Er dankte auch seiner Familie, die sich bei seinen Einsätzen in Albanien stets um ihn gesorgt hatte. Von seiner Mutter hatte er für die erste Fahrt dorthin sogar ein Wohnmobil ausgeliehen bekommen. Ebenfalls dankte er seinen Arbeitgebern in der JVA Rheinbach, wo er seit 1998 als hauptberuflicher Pfarrer und sozialer Ansprechpartner für die Angestellten arbeitet. Ohne die Zusage des Arbeitgebers wäre es ihm natürlich nicht möglich gewesen, für mehrere Wochen das Projekt in Albanien zu unterstützen.

Stefan Schwarz lebt seit 2009 im Kreis Euskirchen. Er hält auch Messen in Dom-Esch, um dort in der Gemeinde heimisch zu werden. Bei diesem Vorhaben unterstützte ihn auch der Landrat. Er schenkte dem Pfarrer das Buch „Anleitung für die Eifel“ von Jacques Berndorf.

Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri is invited to operate with its First Aid Team

The year 2010 is announced as the year of the Blessed Mother Teresa, in the 100th anniversary of her birthday. Numerous activities were held in Albania, Macedonia and Kosovo, to commemorate the extraordinary life and work of this Mother, who completely put her life into the service of God and the poorest of the poor. Among these activities, those which will be longer treasured in the memory of those who lived this Jubilee Year are the celebration of the Holy Mass in the Cathedral "Blessed Mother Teresa” in Laç Vau i Dejes, on August 26, in the 100th anniversary of Mother Teresa’s birthday, and the celebration of the Holy Mass in the unfinished Cathedral dedicated to Mother Teresa in Pristina, on September 5, in the 13th anniversary of her death.

The construction of the Cathedral "Mother Theresa" in Pristina, would have its start five years ago with the establishment of the cornerstone ceremony on August 26, 2005, in the 95th anniversary of Mother Teresa’s birthday, by the historical President of Kosovo Ibrahim Rugova, together with the Bishop of Kosovo of that time, H. E. Mark Sopi and the Archbishop of Washington, H. E. Teodor Mek-Keren, hoping that in the 100th anniversary of Mother Teresa’s birthday, the cathedral would be the host in the celebration of the Holy Mass dedicated to her.

September 5 would be the fulfillment of this desire. The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Hajredin Kuqi, numerous representatives of the Catholic Clergy, representatives of the Orthodox Church, Islamic Community of Kosovo, local institutions and ambassadors and representatives of international organizations operating in Kosovo, countless faithful, attended the Holy Mass, officially opening the Cathedral, which keeps the name "Mother Teresa", led by the Papal envoy, Archbishop of Bar (Tivar), H. E. Zef Gashi, who among other words, would say: "In this land of Kosovo, where many decades before God spoke to Mother Teresa's soul, today we have this Cathedral dedicated to Mother Teresa. In this Cathedral will resound the word of the gospel, without which it is not possible to think of Mother Teresa”.
At the end of the Mass the Bishop of Kosovo, H. E. Dodë Gjergji, the Assembly Speaker, Jakup Krasniqi and the chairman of the Islamic Community in Kosovo, Mufti Naim Tërnava held their speech on the occasion.

This ceremony was also attended by 12 volunteers and two staff members of “Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri”, who at the same time were to provide assistance in medical First Aid. The invitation in this solemnity was made by the Bishop of Kosovo, H. E. Dodë Gjergji, who, until the end of 2006 was the bishop of Sapa and therefore knows very well the structure and the activities of MNSH in all its fields, especially in the medical field, in offering the First Aid.

Viti 2010 është shpallur si viti i të Lumes Nënë Tereza, pikërisht me rastin e 100- vjetorit të lindjes së saj. Aktivitete të shumta janë zhvilluar si në Shqipëri, Maqedoni dhe Kosovë, për të përkujtuar jetën dhe veprën e jashtëzakonshme të kësaj Nëne, e cila e vuri plotësisht jetën e saj në shërbim të Zotit dhe më të varfërve ndër të varfër. Mes këtyre aktiviteteve, ato që do të mbahen mend më gjatë në kujtesën e atyre që e përshkuan këtë Vit Jubilar janë kremtimi i Meshës së Shenjtë në Katedralen “E Lumja Nënë Tereza” në Laç Vau i Dejës, pikërisht më 26 gusht, në ditëlindjen e 100të të Nënë Terezës, dhe kremtimi i Meshës së Shenjtë në Katedralen akoma të papërfunduar kushtuar Nënë Terezës në Prishtinë, më 5 shtator, në 13-vjetorin e vdekjes së saj.

Ndërtimi i Katedrales “Nënë Tereza” në Prishtinë, do të fillonte të merrte jetë 5 vjet më parë me ceremoninë e vendosjes së gurthemelit, më 26 gusht 2005, në 95-vjetorin e lindjes së Nënë Terezës, nga Presidenti historik i Kosovës, Ibrahim Rugova, bashkë me Ipeshkvin e atëhershëm të Kosovës, Imzot Mark Sopi dhe arqipeshkvin e Uashingtonit, Imzot Teodor Mek-Keret, me shpresën se në 100-vjetorin e lindjes së Nënë Terezës, kjo katedrale do të ishte mikpritëse në kremtimin e Meshës së Shenjtë kushtuar asaj.

Data 5 shtator do të ishte përmbushja e kësaj dëshire. Zëvendëskryeministri i Kosovës, Hajredin Kuçi, përfaqësues të shumtë të klerit katolik, përfaqësues të Kishës Ortodokse, të bashkësisë islame të Kosovës, të institucioneve vendase si dhe ambasadorë e përfaqësues të organizatave ndërkombëtare që veprojnë në Kosovë, besimtarë të panumërt, morën pjesë në Meshën e Shenjtë me të cilën zyrtarisht u hap Katedralja, e cila mban emrin “Nënë Tereza”, të udhëhequr nga i dërguari i Papës, arqipeshkvi i Tivarit, Imzot Zef Gashi, i cili ndër të tjera do të thoshte: "Në këtë tokë të Kosovës, ku para shumë dekadash Hyji i ka folur shpirtit të Nënë Terezës, sot ngritet kjo Katedrale kushtuar Nënë Terezës. Në këtë Katedrale do të kumbojë fjala e ungjillit, pa të cilën nuk është e mundur ta mendojmë Nënë Terezën".

Para të pranishmëve fjalën e rastit e mbajtën edhe Ipeshkvi i Kosovës, Imzot Dodë Gjergji; në emër të institucioneve të Kosovës, kryetari i Kuvendit, Jakup Krasniqi dhe kryetari i bashkësisë së Fesë Islame të Kosovës, myftiu Naim Tërnava.

Në këtë solemnitet morën pjesë edhe 12 vullnetarë dhe 2 anëtarë të stafit të “Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri”, për të ofruar njëkohësisht edhe asistencë në Ndihmën e Parë Mjekësore. Ftesa e pjesëmarrjes në këtë solemnitet u është bërë përmes Ipeshkvit të Kosovës, Imzot Dodë Gjergji, i cili deri në fundvitin e 2006 ka shërbyer si ipeshkëv i Sapës dhe i njeh shumë mirë strukturën dhe aktivitetet e MNSH në të gjitha fushat e saj, veçanërisht në fushën mjekësore në ofrimin e Ndihmës së Parë.

Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri offers First Aid Assistance
On August 26, 2010, at 10 a.m, a Holy Mass was celebrated in the Cathedral dedicated to Mother Theresa in Laç Vau Dejës, for the 100-anniversary of the Blessed Mother Teresa’s birthday.
During this solemnity there were present H.E Ramiro Molnar Ingles, Apostolic Nuncio in Albania, H.E Rrok Mirdita, the Head of the Episcopal Conference of Albania, H.E Angjelo Massafra, Archbishop of Shkodër-Pult, H.E Hil Kabashi, Bishop of South Albania, H.E Dodë Gjergji, Bishop of Kosovo, H.E Zef Gashi, bishop of Tivar, H. E Lucian Avgustini, Bishop of Sapa (President of Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri) and many priests of different dioceses.
Honored this solemnity with their presence the Albanian Prime Minister Mr. Sali Berisha and his Lady, the head of the Parliament, Mrs. Jozefina Topalli, the Minister of Culture, Mr. Ferdinand Xhaferi, deputies, representatives of the local government and uncountable faithful.
The Holy Mass was leaded by H.E Ramiro Molnar Ingles. At the end of the Mass H.E Rrok Mirdita, H.E Luciano Avgustini and Mr. Sali Berisha held their speech on the occasion.
“Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri” (MNSH) participated in this very important event of 100-anniversary of the Blessed Mother Teresa’s birthday with its staff and volunteers. The volunteers assisted as a First Aid team.

Më 26 gusht 2010, në orën 10.00, u kremtua Mesha e shenjtë në Katedralen “Nënë Tereza” në Laç Vau Dejës, me rastin e 100-vjetorit të lindjes të së Lumes Nënë Tereza.
Në këtë solemnitet morën pjesë Imzot Ramiro Molnar Ingles, Nunc Apostolik në Shqipëri, Imzot Rrok Mirdita, Kryetar i Konferencës Ipeshkvnore të Shqipërisë, Imzot Angjelo Massafra, Arqipeshkëv i Shkodër-Pult, Imzot Hil Kabashi, Ipeshkëv i Jugut, Imzot Dodë Gjergji, Ipeshkëv i Kosovës, Imzot Zef Gashi, ipeshkëv i Tivarit, Imzot Lucian Avgustini, Ipeshkëv i Dioqezës së Sapës (President i Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri) dhe dhjetëra meshtarë të dioqezave të ndryshme.
Nderonin me pjesëmarrjen e tyre Kryeministri shqiptar Z. Sali Berisha, me zonjën e tij, kryetarja e parlamentit Znj. Jozefina Topalli, Ministri i Kulturës Z. Ferdinand Xhaferi, deputetë, përfaqësues të pushtetit vendor dhe besimtarë të shumtë.
Meshën e Shenjtë e udhëhoqi Shkëlqesia e Tij, Imzot Ramiro Molnar Ingles. Në mbarim të Meshës Imzot Rrok Mirdita, Imzot Luciano Avgustini dhe Z. Sali Berisha mbajtën fjalën përshëndetëse.
“Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri” (MNSH) mori pjesë në këtë ngjarje të rëndësishme të 100-vjetorit të së Lumes Nënë Tereza me vullnetarët dhe stafin e vet. Vullnetarët ishin të pranishëm si skuadër e ndihmës së shpejtë.

Summer school-camp, Velipojë 2010

As every year, even this summer Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri has organized Summer school-camp “Velipoja 2010”.

The camp was organized for Roma children and children from remote areas, such as Bogë, Bratosh, Shkrel, Reç, Sheldi, Dedaj, where MNSH operates and from suburbs of Shkodra. This year there were present children and volunteers from Fushë-Arrës parish.
This year the camp took place from July 1–August 3.

The Camp was organized in three shifts: the first shift from July 1 – 10, where there were 35 children and 15 volunteers taking part; the second shift from July 11 – 21, with 50 children and 20 volunteers, among whom there were the 21 children and 9 volunteers of Fushë-Arrës parish, and the third shift from July 22 – August 3, with 35 children and 15 volunteers.

As every year the volunteers have sat up the Camp, organized and conducted all the activities according to the plan.

The project Summer school-camp “Velipoja 2010” aimed to integrate the Roma children and those coming from remote areas to social life since these categories are completely excluded, to give them the possibility of entertainment and summer holidays.
In every shift a school program was followed by the MNSH staff and volunteers and many entertaining and sportive activities were organized.
The Camp was financed and realized by Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri.

Kamp -Shkollë Verore, Velipojë 2010

Si çdo vit edhe këtë verë Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri organizoi projektin Kamp–shkollë verore “Velipojë 2010”.

Kampi u organizua për fëmijët rom dhe fëmijët nga zonat e thella malore si Bogë, Shkrel, Reç, Sheldi, Dedaj, ku MNSH vepron dhe nga periferitë e Shkodrës. Këtë vit, ishin të pranishëm edhe fëmijë e vullnetarë nga famullia e Fushë-Arrësit.

Kësaj here kampi u zhvillua nga data 1 korrik deri më 3 gusht.

Kampi u organizua në tre turne: turni i parë 1 – 10 korrik, ku morën pjesë 35 fëmijë dhe 15 vullnetarë, turni i dytë 11 - 21 korrik, ku morën pjesë 50 fëmijë dhe 20 vullnetarë, mes të cilëve edhe 21 fëmijët dhe 9 vullnetarët e famullisë së Fushë Arrësit dhe turni i tretë 22 korrik – 3 gusht, ku morën pjesë 35 fëmijë e 15 vullnetarë. Si çdo vit, vullnetarët kanë ngritur kampin dhe kanë drejtuar aktivitetet e planifikuara më parë.

Projekti kamp-shkollë verore “Velipojë 2010” kishte për qëllim që t’i integronte fëmijët Romë dhe ata që vijnë nga zonat e thella në jetën shoqërore, meqë këto grupe janë krejt të përjashtuara dhe t’u japë atyre mundësinë që të argëtohen e të bëjnë pushime verore.
Në secilin prej turneve është ndjekur një program shkollor nga stafi dhe vullnetarët e MNSH dhe janë organizuar mjaft aktivitete argëtuese dhe sportive.
Kampi u financua dhe u realizua nga Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri.

Celebration of St. Anthony feast

Celebration of St. Anthony feast in Shëngjin, Malësi e Madhe

June 13 is a very great feast dedicated to St. Anthony of Padova, worldwide celebrated, especially in Albania, from Catholic, Orthodox and Muslim people.
In Laç of Kurbin there is the sanctuary dedicated to this Saint, which is full of people each Tuesday, especially during this feast day. Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri and its volunteers are present every year there, to offer the First Aid assistance.
This year MNSH was present in another village, during this feast, in Shëngjin, Malësi e Madhe.
The Holy Mass was celebrated by Father Antonio Bozza, with the presence of a great number of faithful, who had come from all the villages around.
The MNSH volunteers assisted as always with the First Aid assistance during the celebration of Mass and during the activities organized in this village for the feast of St. Anthony.

Kremtimi i festës së Shën Antonit në Shëngjin, Malësi e Madhe

13 qershori është një festë shumë e madhe kushtuar Shën Antonit të Padovës e festuar në mbarë botën, e veçanërisht në Shqipëri, nga besimtarë katolikë, ortodoksë e myslimanë. Në Laç të Kurbinit gjendet edhe shenjtërorja kushtuar këtij shenjti të madh, e cila mbushet plot e përplot çdo të martë, veçanërisht në këtë ditë feste. Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri, së bashku me vullnetarët e saj gjendet çdo vit atje për të asistuar me ndihmë mjekësore.
Këtë vit, MNSH ishte e pranishme në një tjetër fshat, në ditën e kësaj feste, në Shëngjin të Malësisë së Madhe.
Meshën e festimit e kremtoi Atë Antonio Bozza, në prani të një numri mjaft të madh besimtarësh të ardhur edhe nga fshatrat përreth.
Vullnetarët e MNSH asistuan si gjithnjë me ndihmë mjekësore gjatë ceremonisë së meshës dhe aktiviteteve të tjera të përmbushura në këtë fshat me rastin e festës së Shën Antonit.

Excursion with the girls of Missionaries of Charity House Mother Teresa

In the schedule of Malteser volunteers activities were planned two excursions with girls who lives at the house “Missionaries of charity” Mother Theresa. The first excursion was with the first group of these girls at the Lake of Shkodra. The second excursion was with the second group of the girls and the MNSH volunteers accompanied them to visit Sanctuary of Our Lady close to the Rozafa castle. There were 20 girls present and 4 MNSH volunteers during these two activities.

Në kalendarin e aktiviteteve të vullnetarëve janë planifikuar dy ekskursione me vajzat që jetojnë në shtëpinë “Misionaret e Bamirësisë” Nënë Tereza. Ekskursioni i parë u organizua me grupin e parë të vajzave pranë Liqenit të Shkodrës. Ekskursioni i dytë u organizua me grupin e dytë të vajzave dhe vullnetarët e MNSH i shoqëruan për të vizituar Kishën e Zojës pranë kalasë Rozafat
Gjatë këtyre dy aktiviteteve ishin të pranishme 20 vajza dhe 4 vullnetarë të MNSH.

June 1st – children’s day

The day of June 1st, children’s feast, finds the MNSH volunteers surrounded by the Roma children, in different activities.

This year, except enjoying together with a simple feast of songs, recitation, games, etc, the volunteers have thought to play an informing game with the Roma children on the Children Rights. This activity was organized in the Village of Peace, which was followed by what the children themselves had prepared for this day.

At the end of the activity the volunteers prepared a cocktail for the children who were present.

1 qershori – dita e fëmijëve

Dita e 1 qershorit, festës së fëmijëve, i gjen vullnetarët e MNSH të rrethuar nga fëmijët rom, në aktivitete fëminore të ndryshme.

Këtë vit, përveç të gëzuarit së bashku me një festë të thjeshtë me këngë, recitime, lojëra etj, vullnetarët kanë menduar që të bëjnë me fëmijët rom një lojë informuese mbi Të Drejtat e Fëmijëve. Ky aktivitet u organizua në ambientet e Fshatit të Paqes që sigurisht më pas pasoi me atë që vetë fëmijët kishin përgatitur për këtë ditë.

Në fund të aktivitetit vullnetarët përgatitën një koktej për fëmijët e pranishëm.

A new auto ambulance for MNSH

Another vehicle was brought from Germany for Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri. It is an auto ambulance Mercedez – Benz offered to our Organization, which will be used for patients transport and emergences.
This auto ambulance was offered by Malteser Ofenbach, with its representative Mr. Thomas Frank, who personally paid a visit in MNSH headquarter in Shkodra, together with Mr. Petersen, bringing the vehicle at the end of May 2010.
The collaboration with Malteser Ofenbach was made possible by Mr. Matthias Heiden.
The auto ambulance was brought with some medical materials: a part for MNSH and the rest was sent to Fushë-Arrëz, to the German Sisters of “Missionsstation who hold different activities and projects such as Kindergarten, House reconstructions for the poor inhabitants there, hygiene courses, etc.
This vehicle will be a great help for MNSH in its medical services and emergences.

Një tjetër autoambulancë për MNSH

Një tjetër automjet është sjellë nga Gjermania për Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri. Automjeti është një ambulancë tip Mercedez – Benz dhuruar për Organizatën tonë, i cili do të përdoret për transport pacientësh në raste emergjence të ndryshme.
Kjo autoambulancë u dhurua nga Malteser Ofenbach, me përfaqësuesin e saj Z.Thomas Frank, i cili personalisht bëri një vizitë në selinë e MNSH në Shkodër, së bashku me Z. Petersen, duke sjellë edhe automjetin në fund të muajit maj 2010.
Bashkëpunimi me Malteser Ofenbach u mundësua nga Z. Matthias Heiden.
Autoambulanca u soll me disa materiale mjekësore: një pjesë për MNSH dhe të tjera që u dërguan në Fushë-Arrëz, tek motrat Gjermane të “Missionsstation”, të cilat zhvillojnë aktivitete dhe projekte të ndryshme si Kopsht për fëmijë, rikonstruksion shtëpish për banorët e varfër, kurse higjiene etj.
Edhe kjo autoambulancë do të jetë një ndihmë e madhe për MNSH në shërbimet dhe emergjencat mjekësore.

A pneumatic tent for civil protection emergences

On May 24, 2010, the Rapid Intervention Team of “Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri”, which is made up of trained and specialized volunteers of MNSH in the Civil Protection field, held a short exercise.
The aim of this exercise was to instruct the members of the Rapid Intervention Team how to set up and use a new pneumatic tent.
The new pneumatic tend was donated to MNSH by CISOM - Italian Rescue Corps of the Order of Malta (Corpo Italiano di Soccorso, Ordine di Malta), who came to Albania to fulfill a sanitary mission in Tirana during May 10-18, 2010.
This tend will be used as an asset of the logistics for the Rapid Intervention Team of “Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri” during its interventions in civil emergences.

Një tendë pneumatike për emergjencat e mbrojtjes civile

Më 24 maj 2010, Skuadra e Ndërhyrjes së Shpejtë e “Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri”, e përbërë nga vullnetarë të trajnuar e të specializuar të MNSH në fushën e mbrojtjes civile zhvilloi një ushtrim të shkurtër.
Ky ushtrim kishte për qëllim që t’i mësonte anëtarët e Skuadrës së Ndërhyrjes së Shpejtë se si të ngitnin e të përdornin një tendë të re pneumatike.
Tenda e re pneumatike iu dhurua MNSH nga CISOM - Trupat Italiane të Ndihmës së Shpejtë të Urdhrit të Maltës (Corpo Italiano di Soccorso, Ordine di Malta), e cila erdhi në Shqipëri për të përmbushur një mision sanitar në Tiranë gjatë periudhës 10 – 18 maj 2010.
Kjo tendë do të shërbejë si aset i logjistikës për Skuadrën e Ndërhyrjes së Shpejtë të “Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri” gjatë ndërhyrjeve të saj në emergjencat civile.

A new collaboration CISOM – MNSH

Among many of different humanitarian projects fulfilled by Italian Rescue Corps (Corpo Italiano di Soccorso, Ordine di Malta CISOM) it was a sanitary mission in the capital of Tirana. The Mission was held in collaboration with the Albanian sanitary authorities, Albanian Caritas, University “Our Lady of Good Council” in Tirana, University of Roma “Tor Vergata, IDI, “Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri”, etc.
The aim of the activity was to monitor the population of a suburb of Tirana, where children, women and men live without appropriate medical care. The team was made up of six volunteer specialized doctors as gynecologist, infectologist , physiatrist and pediatrics.
During the activity, there were several ambulatory medical activities held, in the chirurgical, gynecological, physiatry, cardiology and infectology fields.
The vice Magistrate Commissary Prof. Domenico Arduini, has done gynecological echographies together with doctors and students of the medicine. In collaboration with the University “Tor Vergata” they have taken samples of saliva with the aim to screen for genetic diseases which are most spread in that area, especially of Beta Talassemia. The women have undergone Pap Tests, analyzed then by the Dermatologic Institute of “The Immaculate” in Roma, which acts in Tirana through the University “Our Lady of Good Council”.
Great emotions has given the presence of the Apostolic Nuncio in Albania, H. E. Ramiro Molineri, who celebrated Mass for the present, a Mass dedicated to the sufferings of the people.
“Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri” was present during the CISOM members stay and activity with logistics and volunteers who were there to offer their help from May 11 – 17, 2010.
The director of CISOM, Dr. Mauro Casinghini had the opportunity to visit headquarter of MNSH and be introduced with its activities.

Before starting their journey back home, CISOM gave thanks to all its collaborators who offered their help during their stay and medical visit in Albania, and among them they gave thanks to MNSH for its support with logistics and volunteers.

Një bashkëpunim i ri
CISOM – MNSH

Mes shumë projekteve të ndryshme humanitare ndërkombëtare të përmbushura nga Trupat Italiane të Ndihmës së Shpejtë (Corpo Italiano di Soccorso, Ordine di Malta - CISOM) ishte edhe një mision sanitar në kryeqytetin e Tiranës. Misioni u zhvillua në bashkëpunim me autoritetet sanitare shqiptare, me Karitasin shqiptar, Universitetin “Zoja e Këshillit të Mirë” në Tiranë, Universitetin e Romës “Tor Vergata” me IDI, me “Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri” etj.
Aktiviteti kishte si qëllim monitorimin e popullsisë së një periferie të Tiranës, ku fëmijë, gra e burra jetojnë pa një përkujdesje të mirë mjekësore. Ekipi përbëhej nga gjashtë vullnetarë mjekë me specializim në gjinekologji, infektiologji, fiziatri e pediatri, me përgjegjës mjekun Daniele Danese.
Gjatë misionit u kryen aktivitete të shumta mjekësore ambulatore, si në fushën kirurgjikale ashtu edhe në fiziatri, kardiologji, infektiologji, e gjinekologji.
Zv/komisari magjistral. Prof. Domenico Arduini, i pranishëm së bashku me Drejtorin dok. Mauro Casinghini, ka bërë ekografi gjinekologjike së bashku me mjekë e studentë të mjekësisë. Në bashkëpunim me Universitetin “Tor Vergata” janë marrë kampione pështyme për të monitoruar sëmundjet gjenetike më të përhapura në atë zonë, veçanërisht të Beta Talassemia. Janë bërë edhe Pap Teste mbi popullsinë femërore, të analizuara më pas nga Instituti Dermatologjik i Së Papërlyerës në Romë e cila vepron në Tiranë përmes Universitetit “Zoja e Këshillit të Mirë”.
Shumë emocion ka sjellë prania e Nuncit Apostolik në Shqipëri Shkëlqesia e tij Ramiro Molineri, i cili ka kremtuar Meshën e shenjtë për të pranishmit, Meshë kushtuar vuajtjeve të popullit.
Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri ishte e pranishme gjatë qëndrimit të anëtarëve të CISOM dhe aktivitetit të tyre me logjistikë dhe vullnetarë, të cilët ishin të pranishëm për të ofruar ndihmën e tyre gjatë 11 – 17 maj 2010.
Drejtori i CISOM, Dr. Mauro Casinghini pati mundësinë të bënte edhe një vizitë në zyrën e MNSH dhe u njoh me aktivitetet e saj.
Para largimit të tyre, CISOM i falënderoi të gjithë bashkëpunëtorët e saj që ndihmuan gjatë periudhës së qëndrimit dhe vizitave të tyre mjekësore në Shqipëri. Ndër të tjera falënderimi ishte edhe për MNSH për mbështetjen me logjistikë dhe vullnetarë.

Father Schwarz and Mrs. Neukirchen visit MNSH

On May 5 – 12, 2010, Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri had the honor to welcome Father Stefan Schwarz and Bettina Neukirchen for a visit of a week in its headquarter in Shkodra.

Father Schwarz is the oldest collaborator with MNSH and he is the one who started the activities first in Kosovo and then in Albania and with the support of Malteser Hilfdienst in Germany he made possible the foundation of Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri in 1995. He was the MNSH spiritual leader until 2006 and president for 2008.

On June 2, 2005 he received the title “Citizen of Honor of Shkodra”

Mrs. Neukirchen is an active member of the parish of St. Cyriakus in Neuss-Grimlinghausen, Germany. She has visited Albania several times and has been closely interested in MNSH activities. Every year, in the parish of St. Cyriakus, different activities are organized and the money collected is sent to MNSH to support its Mountain Project, which this parish supports financially and with logistics.

Father Schwarz and Mrs. Neukirchen came this year to Albania to better know the activities held by MNSH, to follow the Mountain Project, to visit the new opened Kindergarten, to see the activities held with Roma community, etc.

They were informed about the duties of each staff member and they checked the documentation of MNSH, projects, finance, offices and logistics

At the end, they discussed about new ideas of MNSH about its activities in the future and also that they will sponser the childern camp this year !!!

Atë Stefan Schwarz dhe Znj. Bettina Neukirchen vizitojnë MNSH

Më 5 – 12 maj, 2010, Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri kishte nderin të mirëpriste Atë Stefan Schwarz dhe Znj. Bettina Neukirchen, të cilët erdhën për një vizitë një javore në zyrën e MNSH në Shkodër.

Atë Schwarz është bashkëpunëtori më i vjetër me MNSH dhe është personi i cili i filloi aktivitetet së pari në Kosovë e më pas në Shqipëri dhe me mbështetjen e Hilfdienst në Gjermani bëri të mundur themelimin e Organizatës humanitare Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri më 1995. Ai u vendos në rolin e drejtuesit shpirtëror deri më 2006, dhe president i MNSH për 2008. Më 2 qershor 2005, mori titullin “Qytetar Nderi i Shkodrës”.

Znj. Neukirchen është anëtare aktive e famullisë së Shën Ciriakut në Neuss-Grimlinghausen, Gjermani. Ajo e ka vizituar disa herë Shqipërinë dhe është e interesuar për aktivitetet e MNSH. Çdo vit, në famullinë e Shën Ciriakut, organizohen aktivitete të ndryshme dhe të ardhurat mblidhen për të mbështetur Projektin e Maleve të MNSH, të cilin famullia e mbështet me ndihmë financiare dhe logjistikë.

Atë Schwarz dhe Znj. Neukirchen këtë vit erdhën në Shqipëri, që të njiheshin më nga afër me aktivitetet që zhvillon MNSH, të ndiqnin Projektin e Maleve, të shihnin Kopshtin e ri për fëmijë, aktivitetet e mbajtura me komunitetin Rom etj.

Ata u informuan dhe iu paraqit dokumentacioni i MNSH, si projektet, financa, logjistika dhe u informuan rreth detyrave të çdo anëtari të stafit.

Në fund ata diskutuan rreth ideve të reja të MNSH për aktivitetet në të ardhmen.

Përzemërsisht i falënderojmë Atë Stefan Schwarz, Znj. Bettina Neukirchen si dhe gjithe anetaret e grupit mbeshtetes te MNSH ne amullinë e Shën Ciriakut në Neuss-Grimlinghausen për kontributin që ata ofrojnë .

Social educational activities with the Missionaries of Charity girls

The Malteser volunteers have organized social-education activities with the girls who live at the house “Missionaries of Charity” Mother Teresa on Easter occasion.

In the first activity, together with the girls, the volunteers have organized different entertaining education games in their house. The two last activities aimed to help and teach girls how to prepare an Easter postcard. MNSH volunteers taught them how to prepare and write a postcard for their friends and sisters who take care of them. The girls enjoyed not only the activity, but being in the company of the volunteers as well, who try to offer them affection and love.

These social educational activities are weekly organized. The sisters have expressed that they are very happy with the MNSH volunteers, and they have requested, within their possibilities, to expand these activities, and not remain only in excursions or games at weekends.

During these activities, there were 20 girls and 4 MNSH volunteers taking part.

Aktivitete social-edukuese me vajzat e Misionareve të Bamirësisë

Vullnetarët e MNSH-së kanë organizuar me rastin e Pashkëve aktivitete social-edukuese me vajzat që jetojnë në shtëpinë “Misionaret e Bamirësisë” Nënë Tereza. Në aktivitetin e parë vullnetarët bashkë me vajzat organizuan disa lojëra zbavitëse në ambientin e shtëpisë së tyre.

Dy aktivitetet e fundit kishin si qëllim t’u mësonin vajzave se si të përgatisin një kartolinë për festën e Pashkëve. Vullnetarët e MNSH i mësuan si të përgatisin dhe shkruajnë kartolina për shoqet e tyre dhe motrat të cilat kujdesen për to.

Vajzat u kënaqën, jo vetëm nga aktiviteti, por edhe nga fakti që janë në shoqërinë e vullnetarëve të MNSH, të cilët përpiqen t’u ofrojnë atyre afeksion dhe dashuri. Këto aktivitete social-edukuese organizohen çdo javë. Motrat janë shprehur se janë shumë të kënaqura me veprimtarinë e vullnetarëve të MNSH, dhe kërkojnë, që brenda mundësive, këto aktivitete të jenë më të zgjeruara, e të mos mbeten vetëm në rang ekskursioni apo lojërash gjatë fundjavave.

Gjatë këtyre aktiviteteve ishin të pranishme 20 vajza dhe 4 vullnetarë të MNSH.

Diocesan Youth Day in Boriç

On March 27, 2010, it was celebrated the Diocesan Youth Day. This year, the youth of the parishes celebrated their day divided in four zones. Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri was present with its volunteers in Boriç, among the youth of pastoral zone nr 4, which belongs to the parishes of Malësi e Madhe. In this day, the celebration started with the greeting of Don Dorian. The Holy
Mass was celebrated by the parish priest of Koplik F. Artan Seli and all the priests present.

Our volunteers were present as a first aid group and in serving the meal for the participants. There were 22 volunteers

Dita e Rinisë Dioqezane në Boric

Më 27 mars 2010, u kremtua Dita e Rinisë Dioqezane. Këtë vit, të rinjtë u e famullive e kremtuan ditën e tyre të ndarë sipas katër zonave. Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri ishte e pranishme me vullnetarët e saj në Boriç, mes të rinjve të zonës baritore nr 4, e cila i takon famullive të Malësisë së Madhe.

Në këtë ditë, kremtimi i kësaj feste filloi me fjalën përshëndetëse të Don Dorianit.

U kremtua edhe Mesha e shenjtë nga të gjithë meshtarët e pranishëm nën udhëheqjen e famullitarit të Koplikut Atë Artan Selit. Vullnetarët tanë u aktivizuan si grup i Ndihmës së Parë dhe në shërbimin e drekës për të rinjtë pjesëmarrës. Morën pjesë 22 vullnetarë.

Station of Cross

The Station of the Cross March 20, 2010

Even this year, during Lent season, as it is in the tradition, on March 20, there was celebrated the Station of the Cross in the Mountain Tarabosh in Shkodra.

The faithful from Shkodra and other parishes climbed the mountain of Tarabosh to recall the Passion of Jesus and pray the 14 stops of the Station of the Cross.

The celebration started with the greeting of the parish priest of Shkodër, Dom Gjovalin Sukaj.
There were many faithful present, young people, and the members of the catholic youth groups. The prayer of the Station of the Cross began at 9.00 am and it lasted for about four hours
Three MNSH volunteers prayed the 5th Stop “Simon Cireneu helps Jesus to keep the Cross”.
There were 12 volunteers present in the activity with 2 cars and the First Aid team.

Udha e Kryqit 20 Mars, 2010

Edhe sivjet, në kohën e Kreshmëve, asht siç është bërë tashmë traditë, u kremtua Udha e Kryqit në malin e Taraboshit, me 20 mars.

Besimtarë nga Shkodra e famullitë përrreth iu ngjitën Malit Tarabosh për të përkujtuar Mundimet e Jezusit dhe për të lutur 14 ndalesat e Udhës së Kryqit.
Kremtimi filloi me fjalën përshëndetëse të famullitarit të qytetit të Shkodrës, Dom Gjovalin Sukaj.
Të pranishëm ishin besimtarë të shumtë, të rinj e të reja dhe anëtarë të grupeve rinore katolike.
Më pas, filloi lutja e Udhës së Kryqit në malin e Taraboshit, i cili zgjati për rreth 4 orë.
Tre vullnetarë të MNSH lutën ndalesën e V, “Simon Cireneu ndihmon Jezusin për të mbajtur Kryqin”.
Të pranishëm ishin 12 vullnetarë me 2 makina dhe skuadren e ndihmës së shpejtë.

Karnival Celebration with ROMA Children and Children with social Problems

This year the MNSH volunteers have thought to celebrate the feast of Carnivals with Roma children and with children with social problems, which live at Village of Peace.
Since this feast precedes the Lent season, time during which we are invited to think more about others, they have desired to celebrate with these children at the ambiance of Social Center of Malteser, Village of Peace in Shkodër.

The day of Carnivals, on February 16, the volunteers have prepared a feast with different non-formal games in the ambiance of our Social Center.

There they have celebrated and played with the children, have offered them sweets and carnival mask and have tried to enjoy with them, for these children could feel
somehow the atmospheres of the Karneval feast.

There were four MNSH volunteers taking part during this celebrating day.

FESTIMI I KARNEVALEVE ME FEMIJET ROM DHE FEMIJE ME PROBLEME SOCIALE

Vullnetarët e MNSH menduan ta kremtojnë festën e karnavaleve me fëmijët Rom dhe fëmijë me probleme sociale, të cilët jetojnë në Fshatin e Paqes.
Duke qenë se kjo festë paraprin kohën e kreshmëve, kohë në të cilën duhet menduar më shumë edhe për të tjerët, ata kanë dashur të festojnë me këto fëmijë në ambientet e qëndres sociale të Malteserit në Fshatin e Paqes. Ditën e Karnavaleve, më 16 shkurt, vullnetarët kanë përgatitur një festë me lojna joformale në ambientet e qëndres sonë.

Aty kanë festuar dhe luajtur me fëmijët, u kanë shpërndarë ëmbëlsira dhe maska të karnevaleve dhe janë munduar që të gëzojnë me ta në mënyrë që këta fëmijë ta ndiejnë sadopak atmosferën e festës së Karnevaleve. Në këtë aktivitet ishin të pranishëm katër vullnetarë të MNSH.

35 days of continuous medical, sanitary and Psychosocial support of Roma population living in a collective center in a former military base in Rrenc

Since January 7, after the request of Minister of Health , MNSH took over the complete medical and sanitary service of this collective center , where around 200 roma people are living since January 5. Two medical teams compound by nurses and medical doctors (general practitioners and specialist doctors) are present six to seven hours per day at the center offering their service to everyone who needs. Medical visits, Medicaments , medical consults to hospital, medical analyses are all covered by MNSH. An Malteesr ambulance car and a emergency medical doctor provides 24-hour on call service.

Besides medical teams , another psychosocial team compound by social workers and psychologists, MNSH volunteers, continues to support the roma people in this collective center
The emotional wounds may be less visible than the destruction of homes and physical infrastructure, but it often takes far longer to recover from the emotional and psychological impact than to overcome the material losses.

MNSH, supported by Malteser Hilfsdients Germany and Malteser Hospitaldienst Austria, will run these services until the roma population will leave this center. At this step civil protection teams of MNSH will support them to rebuild their houses.

Day of the sick people (Lady of Lourdes)

Even this year on the day of Our Lady of Lourdes, during which it is celebrated “The day of the sick”, all churches organized the Mass where especially sick faithful participated.

On February 11, there was a special celebration for the sick people of the Diocese of Sapa.
In “Mother Theresa” cathedral, Vau Dejes was celebrated Holy Mass by the Bishop H.E Lucjano Avgustini (President of Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri), were invited to partecipate all sick peolpe.

At the end of the Mass Bishop H.E. Lucjano Avgustini has invited all sick people and their accompains to participate in a feast. The feast was organized in one of the restaurants at the center of Vau Dejes.

“Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri” (MNSH) was present with its volunteers as First Aid team.

In this day the Holy Mass in the parish of Shkoder-Pult was celebrated by the Bishop H.E. Angelo Massafra with some other priests.

At the end of the Mass, the faithful were blessed with the Holy Sacrament.
“Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri” (MNSH) was present with its volunteers to collaborate with the Sisters of Mother Teresa in transporting the sick children and old sick people from their house to the Church and vice-versa.
There were five MNSH volunteers and staff taking part during the activity and the Mass and two cars were in service.

Dita e të sëmurëve (Zoja e Lurdit)

Edhe këtë vit në ditën e Zojës së Lurdit, gjatë së cilës kremtohet “Dita e të sëmurëve”, të gjitha kishat organizuan Meshën në të cilën morën pjesë veçanërisht të sëmurët.

Më 11 shkurt, u organizua një kremtim i veçantë për të sëmurët e dioqezës Sapës.
Në Katedralen e “Nënë Terezës” Vau Dejes u kremtua Mesha e Shenjtë nga Shkëlqesia e Tij Imzot Lucjano Avgustini (Presidenti i Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri), ku ishin të ftuar që të merrnin pjesë të gjithë të sëmurët.
Në fund të Meshës Shkëlqesia e Tij Imzot Lucjano Avgustini ftoi të sëmurët dhe shoqëruesit në një festë të organizuar në një restorant në qendër të Vau Dejës.
“Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri” (MNSH) ishte e pranishme në këtë aktivitet me vullnetarët e saj si skuadër e Ndihmës së Parë.

Në këtë ditë në famullin e Shkodër-Pult, Mesha u kremtua nga Shkëlqesia e Tij Imzot Angelo Massafra në bashkëkremtim me disa meshtarë të tjerë. Në fund të Meshës, besimtarët morën bekimin me të Shenjtërueshmin Sakrament. “Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri” (MNSH) ishte e pranishme edhe në këtë aktivitet me vullnetarët e vet për të bashkëpunuar me Motrat e Nënë Terezës për të transportuar fëmijët e sëmurë dhe të moshuarit e sëmurë nga shtëpia e tyre për në kishë dhe anasjelltas.
Pesë vullnetarë dhe anëtarë të stafit morën pjesë gjatë këtij aktiviteti dhe në Meshë, ishin në shërbim dy makina.

Drinking water testing and monitoring in Dajç commune

MNSH continues its support to flooded zones. Two special teams of MNSH compound by trained volunteers and water specialists and in collaboration with Public Health Inspectorate are continuing to monitor the water supply systems and water wells in all villages of commune of Dajc.

Commune of Dajç was one of most effected areas from flood and nearly all water supply systems in this commune were contaminated. Cleaning and disinfection of water supply systems had just been done and now cleaning and chlorination of water wells is running. More than 500 kg of Na hypochlorite and Ca hypochlorite has been offered by MNSH to commune.

Every day MNSH teams together with water specialists and representatives of commune are taking samples of water from water wells and water supply systems and realizing the needed laboratory analyses. Results of the analyses are shown to the commune and Shkodra district Authorities , who then decide to inform population on the conditions of the drinking water.

MNSH would like to thank the Malteser Hospitaldienst Austria and the ambassador of the Order of Malta for supporting these activities of MNSH to flooded zones.

A very fast reaction from Rogner Hotel Europapark in Tirana and the Embassy of the order of Malta in Albania . After the information that hygienic items , cleaning materials are needed and are a priority for flooded families that are returned in their homes, a big truck was yesterday transporting from Tirana to MNSH office the requested materials ( ca 10 000 Euro value)
MNSH volunteers will prepare now the boxes for the families and in cooperation with communes and parishes will deliver them to the affected zones.

MNSH would like another time to thank Rogner Hotel EuropaPark – Tirana and Professor Granser , Ambassador of the Order of Malta in Albania for supporting the humanitarian activities of MNSH .

Donation of a machinery for the automatic chlorination of drinking water in Shkoder.

MNSH donate to the Drinking Water-Supply Establishment of the Municipality of Shkoder a special machinery for the automatic chlorination of the drinking water for the population of Shkoder.

During the flood of last weeks, drinking water in different quarters of Shkoder Municipality was contaminated . The Interministerial Committee coordinating the Civil Emergency in the area of Shkoder ranked the need of this machinery as a priority. After request from the authorities of the Municipality, MNSH supported by its volunteers and friends in Tirana from the one side and through the much appreciated financial support by Malteser Hospital Dienst Austria, facilitated by the Ambassador of the Order of Malta in Albania, Professor Granser, Albanian Malteser provided the special machinery for the automatic chlorination of drinking water.

In this way the population will drink standardized chlorinated water, avoiding the past situation, when drinking water was chlorinated in a mechanical way and didn't matched the needed standards.

Support of population of Dajç with food and hygienic items

More than 100 families from the villages of Dajç commune were the profiteers of the recent support of MNSH.

MNSH volunteers prepared these boxes with food and hygienic items, transported them to commune of Dajç and in collaboration with parish of Dajç offered them to most effected families from flood.

Thanks to the collaboration of commune representatives and Don Marjan Gegaj, MNSH volunteers visited some other families and houses much effected from flood and promised to them another support on Hygienic items.

Nearly all evacuated families from this zone are returned back to their properties as floodwater levels have dropped and started up to clean, disinfect and dry their houses naturally. So cleaning, disinfection materials and in many cases mold removing agents seems to be a priority.

Ambulance Corps Busy after the Floods

The Order of Malta’s Ambulance Corps (Malteser Ndihmon ne Shqiperi) promptly provided Medical assistance after the recent floods in northern Albania, sending specialists, sanitary supplies, ambulance services, sleeping bags and food. Over 200 people, mainly Rom, have been rescued and assisted in an army base near Scutari.

Again at the request of the Albanian Ministry of Health, it is also offering psychological and social assistance to other evacuees in the same area, some 300 people from the villages around the Buna and Drin rivers, as well as in other communities only reachable after a 45-minute journey on the army’s patrol boats.

The Ambulance Corps’ fast response medical unit is active 24 hours a day, assisting evacuees from Obot and Dajc arriving along the road connecting Scutari, Murican and the frontier station with Montenegro.

Der albanische Hilfsdienst im Einsatz nach den Überschwemmungen13 Januar 2010

Albanien: Sofort nach den schweren Überschwemmungen, die in den vergangenen Tagen den Norden von Albanien heimgesucht haben, ist der Hilfsdienst des Malteserordens in Albanien (Malteser Ndihmon ne Shqiperi) mit Ärzten, medizinischer Ausrüstung, Ambulanzen, Schlafsäcken und Lebensmittel in die betroffene Region aufgebrochen. Über 200 Menschen, überwiegend Roma, konnte geholfen werden. Sie wurden zunächst in Unterkünften des Heeres in der Nähe von Scuteri untergebracht.

Auf Anforderung des albanischen Gesundheitsministeriums wird der psychologische Beistand und die soziale Hilfe weitere ausgeweitet. Sie gilt vor allem etwa 300 Menschen, die aus den an den Flüssen Buna und Drin gelegenen Dörfern evakuiert werden mussten und den Menschen in den abgeschnittenen Dörfern, die nur mit Patrouillenbooten des Heeres zu erreichen sind.

In der Region ist ein medizinisches Zentrum des Hilfsdienstes eingerichtet worden, das rund um die Uhr für die Menschen aus den evakuierten Ortschaften von Obot un Dajc erreichbar ist, die an der Straße liegen, die von Scutari über Murican an den Grenzposten zu Montenegro führt.

Robert Rogner, çek 2 milionë lekë për përmbytjet në Shkodër

TIRANË – Kontributeve të dhëna nga biznesi dhe organizatat për zonat e përmbytura në Shkodër i është bashkuar edhe pronari i Hotel Rogner Europapark në Tiranë, i cili ka dhënë 2 milionë lekë. Në një prezantim të veçantë, Robert Rogner, i cili është edhe Konsull Nderi i Shqipërisë në Austri, si dhe bashkëshortja Melitta Rogner, në bashkëpunim me ambasadorin e Urdhrit Sovran të Maltës, Prof. Gunther Granser, dorëzuan dje çekun në vlerën 2 milionë lekë vënë në dispozicion për familjet e dëmtuara nga përmbytjet në qarkun e Shkodrës. Çeku iu dorëzua presidentit të organizatës humanitare MNSH (Malteser ndihmon në Shqipëri) Monsignor Lucjan Avgustini dhe drejtorit të saj, Maranaj Marku. Që më 14 janar kjo organizatë nisi dërgesën e parë me artikuj të rëndësishëm jetik drejt zonave në nevojë. Me ketë rast, ambasadori Urdhrit Sovran të Maltës, Prof. Gunther Granser falënderoi familjen Rogner për ndihmën e shpejtë, dhënë për viktimat e katastrofës së Shkodrës dhe tha ndër të tjera se, “ishte kjo katastrofë e këtyre përmasave që na mblodhi së bashku me familjen Rogner si në raste të tjera të ngjashme, për të ndihmuar”. Ndërsa Robert Rogner u shpreh se, “sapo u informova se në atdheun tim të dytë ka ndodhur një katastrofë dhe bëra të njëjtën gjë që kam bërë edhe në zonat e prekura nga tërmeti në Armeni, apo nga cunami në Sri Lanka etj. Vendosa pa mëdyshje të jap ndihmën time dhe e bëra menjëherë”, - tha zoti Rogner. “Motoja jonë është se kush ndihmon shpejt, ndihmon dyfish”, - vijoi pronari i hotelit të njohur në kryeqytet. “U lidha me përfaqësuesit zyrtarë të Maltës, sepse ata kanë organizatën e tyre në veri të Shqipërisë që prej vitesh ndihmon popullsinë, dhe dërgova trajlerat me sendet më të nevojshme që u duhen njerëzve që u ka ndodhur kjo fatkeqësi”, - tha zoti Robert Rogner. MNSH Civil Protection

Immediately after the official declaration of Emergency situation, MNSH Civil Protection teams installs a First Aid Tent at the point where evacuated people by boats from Dajc and Obot villages starts the car trips to the collective centers.

Medical and pschyco social teams are offering a nonstop service.

Drinking water and hot drinks are offered also to the military troops working at this point.
